I could see Cesaro being a major heel in the Hulkamania years, probably headlining a card with the Hulkster.
John Cena would(sadly) be a jobber in every era except the past two.

DESTROYED.
Seriously other than Punk every heel today (I know he's a face, but IMO shouldn't be)would have needed a Bobby Heenan to talk for them. I think some people really under estimate just how awesome guys were 20 years ago. In ring they were less athletic but on every other criteria they absolutely ruled.

I think Dolph would've fit in quite well in the New Generation era. Before the Kliq buries him due to his looks and ability being a threat to their spots (Shawn's in particular).

Most would do exceptionally well in the ring, and thanks to coming from a current, fast-paced era into a past era of loooong rest holds, would probably leave almost everyone in the dust. However, 99% of the guys today either don't have the ability to make you care about anything they do or aren't allowed to show it, so that sort of negates everything.
Cena could be dropped into any era and would instantly be the top guy, though. If you transplanted him into WWF around 1987, he would have quickly become the success the Warrior was supposed to be.

Cena would still have been a star. He looks like a million bucks, can talk and is reasonably athletic. He's not a technical wizard, but not every territory was like Crockett.
In general the bigger guys would've done better because they could bounce around territories as a special attration.

A Mark Henry/Hogan feud in the '80s would've been fantastic.

I could see Cesaro being John Cena would(sadly) be a jobber in every era except the past two. I think Cena would at least be Intercontinental Champion in the 80s. The way that Cena wrestles would be seen as "innovative".

Cesaro doesn't have the cartoon size to have done much in the 80's. Would have been amazing to see him in the New Generation Era however.
Cena with a mullet would have been at LEAST a high-midcarder in the 80's. He's got a "larger than life" look.
Del Rio would have been great in the 80's if he used his family's gimmick, most of the 90's would probably have worked as well and would have sucked major ass in the Attitude Era. Oddly enough, I think he would have fit into the 2003-06 WWE as his current charater but feels out of place now.

I think most of them would have done fine as long as they took their "vitamins" like everyone else did in the early days so they could look like a barrel. I can imagine a lot of people bringing up mic skills but the territories would have still existed back in the Rock and Wrestling Era so they could have worked on them and gotten better, rather then being handed scripts. Who knows of the current roster who secretly is a wizard on the stick and they just never get to show it.

I can see HHH having a career similar to Ted DiBiase.

Cena would have been a top star. He has everything they would have needed. If Punk was a heel, he would be fine around the Million Dollar Man level. I have no idea about Bryan. Tag team guy probably. At best Tito Santana level (which is better than people realize).
Mark Henry would be an interesting case. While he is massive, I don't think he would be a heel in almost any era other than Attitude or now. They would have played up the US Olympian way too much. Same with Kurt Angle (who would main event in any era), I don't see him being a heel.

I can imagine Attitude era WWE making Cena into an Eminem type persona to capitalize on the popularity and notoriety the guy had when he first broke out. Ryback during the Russo years would be a bigger mockery of Goldberg than Gillberg and he would be named Silverback, get it? Gold and Silver. Tamina would be rivals with Chyna, and AJ would have a long feud with Sable, crazy vs vain. The Wyatts' storyline would be that they are practicing witchcraft, and much darker. Their vignettes would be found footage type to capitalize on the popularity of the Blair Witch Project at the time.

Is it fair to say that I think a lot of guys in the roster today could have been HUGE stars in 80s/90s Japan ?
