I suspect WWE would be thrilled. Their top star being gay would be great publicity.

They probably wouldn't do anything.
I don't think the WWE would want to make an angle out of it, as they've had chances to do so in the past, but didn't.

Well, we who don't care about them would be able to finally identify the Bella who still worked for the WWE.

I'm just voicing a dissenting opinion. What if a few people go and make hundreds of threads discussing other hypotheticals every day? Would that be acceptable? They're technically "valid" and unique topics, right? (To be clear, this is not some sort of threat. I have no intentions to go make any of these kinds of threads.) To answer your hypothetical questions, which in themselves present the possibility of multiple answers, each of which depends on a series of unaccounted for variables that you yourself are critiquing: So what? Yes. And yes. In this particular case, I'm asking a question to the exact person who can give concrete answers. A moderator. I don't have an issue with hypotheticals in general. But when it comes to frivolous, unanswerable things such as aspects of wrestling history? Especially ones that alter personal aspects of actual human beings? C'mon. We can go on all day discussing "What if" this or "What if" that.

I honestly think that, behind the scenes, Cena has banged more women than Punk and Batista combined, he just keeps it well hidden since he has a squeaky clean image to uphold. Cena being gay would legitimately surprise me. this on the other hand, I think is probably true. Punk's a serial monogamist so we always hear about who he's currently shacking up with. Cena on the other hand, until Nikki (and briefly Mickie James) we never heard about anything. Bret Hart never fooled around with co-workers but he cheated on his wife with ring rats all the time. wouldn't be surprised if Cena did the same and Vince paid his ex-wife off to keep that from getting out. would not surprise me in the least.

At MSG after the hall of fame, I saw him walk out with a young hot piece of ass

One "lucky" fan would then get to share his house as a guest.

If Cena came out as gay, HHH would come out too and try to out gay him.

As long as the place isn't being spammed (particularly with copycat threads) and doesn't involve politics or religion, discussion over hypothetical situations is perfectly acceptable.

If Cena came out as gay, HHH would come out too and try to out gay him. "There's a lot of bi-things I am but '-lingual' isn't one of them... Hey, wait a minute, did I just mean to say that?" "I don't think you did, but be that as it may, we're live..."

WWE would, indeed, issue a well crafted, corporate response of unwavering support for their biggest star.
But they'd also very quietly start to downplay Cena and look for someone else to fill the Wholesome, Women-and-Children-Friendly Top Babyface role.
Meanwhile, the half of crowds that chanted "Cena Sucks" would switch to chanting "f*****" and Intelligent, Discerning Wrestling Fans would make impassioned posts on here about how there's nothing at all homophobic about it and fans are just expressing their distaste for Cena's character and booking.

What if CM Punk was the son of Jesse Ventura? The world would be a happier place. Especially if he was constantly busting out the old "shut up, McMahon!"

I think I agree with the majority, here. I have to believe WWE would simply be forced, for better or worse (but probably better) to accept their new gay top face.

The fact that having one of these posts caused such a weird response is sort of telling, though

"Cena Sucks" chants would suddenly become homophobic. I imagine the "Cena Sucks" chant becomes a lot more elaborate like Chuck Taylor's complicated chant in which they elaborate on what they mean by "Cena Sucks".

The fact that having one of these posts caused such a weird response is sort of telling, though This right here. People post scores of "what if the screwjob didn't happen," "what if Austin 3:16 didn't happen" etc. threads and generally those are widely accepted and get plenty of detailed responses. Someone asks about something related to gender and/or sexuality and we instantly get "b-b-but it's hypothetical!" and all kinds of kvetching, up to and including fraudulently comparing it to something like a change in hair color. Then lots of parody threads for seemingly no reason. Some of you may've not (or did!) noticed that it made you uncomfortable - but your brain did.
