At this indy show I went to there was this guy doing a Shane Douglas gimmick. Other than being about 30 pounds overweight, he has the look down.

My local indy has a dude that does a Shane Douglas gimmick, complete with the "Franchise" name and theme song. We've even got our own Dudley (which im guessing is fairly common).

The tag team in Puerto Rico called Thunder and Lighting used to dress up as a Blue Kane.

I think there was a Biff Beverly that wrestled in the indies during the early 90s when the Beverly Bros. were in the WWE.

Is he related to the Hardys? Or just a kindred spirit? Neither. He has a friend named Badger in Albuquerque.

Do we have an exact figure on the number of Nature Boy variations there have been over the years?

Numerous Warrior rip-offs, including Luminous Warrior (later just Luminous) and that guy going around as One Warrior Nation
I went to an autograph signing once that was promoting 'NWO Bogus Sting' - and it wasn't even the real Bogus Sting (Jeff Farmer)! It was some guy that had worked some local lucha shows as Kro 2000 or 3000. Possibly. He didn't look much like the guy in the Kro 2000 (or 3000) promo pics he was selling/signing.

Even Colder Mike Austin is a Stone Cold Steve Austin ripoff. There's footage of him on YouTube.
Jay Batista is the Batista ripoff who was posted on these boards ages ago in photos with either One Warrior Nation or Primal Warpath (who are both Ultimate Warrior ripoffs) I can't remember which. He's supposedly claimed to be related to the real Batista.
There's also a wrestler who wrestles as Joey Grunge, whose gimmick is taken from Johnny Grunge of the Public Enemy. And I'm not sure if it counts, but Rory Mondo copied Sick Nick Mondo.

(Ripped Flair, who ripped Rogers, who ripped George) ![:P](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/tongue.png)

Surely this doesn't count guys who dressed up as different wrestlers on purpose as part of their gimmick. I thought Derrick King (a smallish black guy who wrestled in PowerPro and Memphis-area indies) was a better HBK than Shawn Michaels ever was. In the late 90s every promotion in America had some bald guy pretending to be Stone Cold. I don't mind they insist on copying Steve Austin, but this is what gets me. I lived in Mississippi for a couple of years, and was at the Greenville Wal-Mart one day. (Actually, a lot of days. There isn't a lot to do down there. But, that's besides the point.) They had this guy sitting at a table, looked like Stone Cold after a 10-course meal - he must have weighed about 300 pounds. And he was signing autographs. He wasn't plugging any local shows, just signing autographs...on Steve Austin pictures! (And this guy had a line! Not a bottom line, but a line of people waiting for his signature.) My wife asked me if that was Stone Cold. (She didn't watch a lot of wrestling at the time.) I said no, just some local guy saying he is. I walked away, she found me 5 minutes later, bringing a postcard sized picture of Stone Cold Steve Austin signed something similar. I think I still have it somewhere, cost like $2. I just found the whole thing funny, because this could have been some random guy working the casinos that just happened to look like Steve and figured he could make a couple bucks. Since he wasn't pushing a show, that's what I figure.

And I'm not sure if it counts, but Rory Mondo copied Sick Nick Mondo. i don't think it counts since the gimmick came from his time as a fan when he would dress up a Nick Mondo in support of him, and he does it more as a tribute rather than a ripoff

At the starts of the 2000's there was actually a touring promotion in the UK consisting exclusively of rip off's of WWF stars.
They had a show booked in a local sports hall but the council wouldn't grant them the needed license for whatever reason so it was cancelled a few days before it was due to happen.
I just looked it up on wikipedia and apparantly there were alot of smaller promotions in the UK doing WWF tribute shows around this time and that it got to the point where even All Star Wrestling were booking the WWF knock offs.
