That's kind of sick, actually. I mean, literally just throwing Mistico under the rug and replacing him with another guy. Imagine if they for some weird reason decided to fire Kane and had Triple H play his masked character and never acknowledged the original Kane was gone. A lot of people already believe that the original Kane was replaced with someone else and don't seem to care. Though speaking of Kane, they tried it with Diesel and Razor and it didn't go over so well. Nash and Hall left for more money. It's not like Mistico is some hot commodity and WWE is made the fool if they try to replace him. I just feel bad for him. HE'S made the fool. Maybe if WWE played off his quirky, yet quintessential charm as the 60's Spider-Cara meme, he'd be better off.

I'll admit I'm not... super pleased that they've stuck him back under the Sin Cara mask, and am hoping it's just temporary. I mean, yeah, it's great that this would give him more time in the ring/on tv/etc, but I'd really rather see him doing his own thing than adapting to/imitating someone else's style. Plus them seemingly just pretending he's the same guy under the mask that's always been under the mask just... I dunno, it rubs me the wrong way. Call me ungrateful, since I've always and constantly been clamoring for them to use Hunico more, but this wasn't exactly what I meant. Like, not at all. that tattoo covers his whole arm. Seemed like the one Sin Cara had was just his shoulder It was Hunico; the tattoo covers his arm and extends over his shoulder/chest a bit. He's also got that scar on his stomach, and that definitely wasn't Sin Cara's voice. Hunico also moves differently in the ring/has a different style than Sin Cara. What exactly was he doing before that you're going to miss? I mean, I love the guy and I'm stoked that he's actually going to be on TV now, so don't take it the wrong way. I think this is good for him.

So did they use Hunico thinking that nobody would know the difference? The fans aren't that stupid. Twitter proves otherwise.

Oh, no, I recognize that WWE wasn't doing anything at all with him before, I'm not delusional, haha (although I will freely admit that I love how he took the boring/stereotypical gimmick they gave him and kinda just flew with it; it could have been awful but he made it fun, his heel mannerisms are just so fantastic). I'm more 'eh' about the fact that they're seemingly going to just pretend that yep, Sin Cara is Sin Cara, new guy under that mask? Naaahhhh, what are you talking about? They wanna turn him face and put him under a fun mask? Sure! I'd be all for that! He was so much fun as Incognito. I'd rather see him doing his own thing and building his own character than them sticking him into someone else's role. He seems to work better when he's not trying to imitate someone else's style, as well (I hope this makes sense, I'm not sure how else to word it). I get that Sin Cara is a WWE-owned character, I do! But, like I said before, I'm just not likin' that they're just tossing him under there and pretending nothing has changed. Obviously, though, this is the first time they've done this with him since the Sin Cara feud, so maybe they're going in a direction with it that will eventually acknowledge that it's someone different under the mask. I will admit that it is exciting that he may be getting more air time, though!

So the real question is, Sin Cara I isn't being replaced and he comes back...how do they explain that tattoo?
If I had to guess, Sin Cara I/Misticara has been quietly released; possibly been allowed out of his no-compete clause if they're allowed to use the Sin Cara gimmick and he just returns to Mexico under the Mistico gimmick. But that's just wild mass guessing on my part.

As for Mistico, I think someone (his cousin maybe?) took the gimmick over after he left with no acknowledgment of him being a replacement.

It really pains me to watch WWE just bumbling through life like this.

What are you talking about, totally the same guy
He had that match, then flew to Mexico for dinner.

I think that Sin Cara's contract runs out in January. The gimmick is over may as well use it.
Though I would like there to be a revolving cast of Sin Cara's, one week it's the Big Show, one week it's Torito, one week it's D-Young, one week it's Vince and they never acknowledge that it's a different guy.

If they're going to use a different guy than they can at least get one who doesn't have a tattoo for consistency

Honestly, they might have been better off putting a new mask on the guy. They have a LOT of damage control to do regarding the Sin Cara character.

It'd be pretty funny if we finally got Sin Cara vs. Mysterio at WrestleMania now.

Sadly, I fell for it, even after seeing that pic of Hunico with the tattoo. I had to look at them close up to remember that Sin Cara had the arm bands, and that Hunico was wearing a longsleeve when he returned.

It'd be pretty funny if we finally got Sin Cara vs. Mysterio at WrestleMania now. And they replaced Mysterio with the original Sin Cara.

It'd be pretty funny if we finally got Sin Cara vs. Mysterio at WrestleMania now. Won't happen because one of them is going to get injured before Mania as usual. Personally, I rather they just let the character faded away if they aren't going to use the original in the role. Only reason I see the character sticking around is because Mattel loves they can just re-paint his action figures in different colors and sell them without making a new one from scratch. Hunico at least deserves his own character. Playing Sin Cara is already putting him in the hole against folks' preconceive perceptions.

Mistico wasn't even in the US tonight. He checked in with 4Squared somewhere in Mexico and managed to broadcast it on his Twitter.
