I know it seems too obvious from that last shot on Raw, but the fact it's hinted at strongly but many think WWE would never actually pull it off is precisely the reason it could happen. I was listening to a podcast with ex-writers where they state that one of Vinces favourite things to do is take a storyline "left". What better swerve than to actually go ahead with what you've teased that no one thinks you've got the balls to do.
PPV business is down drastically at the moment, so much so that they had to shoehorn in a unification match to their plans as a short term fix, imagine all the talk about WWE if cena turned? I think we're seeing a company that's getting a bit desperate and though Vince is often compliant when his back is against the wall he will make radical changes.
Apparently they held off turning him in the past because they wanted to build Sheamus up to take over as the top face, that hasn't happened though Daniel Bryan is so over as a face now he could easily fill the role. And he's happy doing PR and make a wish and whatnot.
Plus the logical main event to do at Mania is a rematch from Summerslam of Bryan V Cena.
Having Cena as a heel would add a new dynamic to the match, plus Bryan has unfinished business with the authority so having Cena as part of The Authority makes sense, especially when The Authority angle should be getting paid off at Mania.

While I agree they are hinting at it (Cena's promos over the last few weeks seemed kinda heelish to me), I really don't think they will do it.

I'm getting the feeling we're not going to get a full heel turn, but we are going to get the Authority endorsing Cena after he wins and saying they're happy with him as the face of the company, with Cena being conflicted over it.

They can get a ton of mileage out of this, and still not have to turn Cena completely heel fir another couple of years. He can fend off other "faces of the company" (Miz, RKO again) until that gets stale.

Whenever they tease Cena turning heel in any way, it's always a good sign that he won't be turning heel.

Cena would have to drop the title prior to WrestleMania though cuz it appears we're getting Cena vs. Triple H

Would be interesting.
I think Cena's heel turn is still very far off though. Several years in the future.
Also, I think if/when it does happen it will be underwhelming. Isn't it more fun to boo him now than it would be if he actually turned heel? I think WWE knows that and they're milking it. As they should.
It's more fun to boo Cena as he is now imo, rather than if he turned true heel.

I kind of wonder if Cena's injuries lately are sort of dropping hints to them that maybe they should pull the trigger now while they can still make money and buys off of it rather than let Cena be Edge'd before they can ever turn him.

Cena won't be turning heel anytime soon. The money this guy makes for the company is insane. If anything, Cena will probably turn heel towards the end of his career.

Cena turning heel only to be a Triple H Henchman would be right up there with the worst things ever.

Count me among those who feel a Cena heel turn is overdue. But after the many times it would have been perfect to do so and it never happened, I find The Authority turning face to be more likely.

Can't see it. I mean I'd like to see it, but I can't because I don't see it ever happening. Even if there was a chance of it ever happening, they made it too obvious with the ending to RAW. Obvious swerve.

If they did pull the trigger on a Cena heel turn and the crowds start cheering for him, The Authority might end up turning face by association.

Cena isn't turning heel any time soon, if ever. In order for WWE even to try to defend such a decision to its shareholders, Cena's merch sales and ratings would need to drop considerably. Whereas Cena's topped merch sales for several years now, he'd have to drop to at least #4 in order to be able to say that it was a possibility - this for a superstar for whom there are a minimum three to four T-shirt, cap and armband designs released each and every year. He's the Sims 3 of pro wrestling. From a creative standpoint, Cena turning heel outright would completely unbalance the WWE; this imbalance, especially if it's an Authority-based scenario in which there are multiple beatdowns and/or gangups, would cause a ratings downturn in about two episodes. At this point, given the current angles in place, I'd almost guarantee that Sheamus's return, when it happens, will be as a face.

If Cena ever turns heel, it'll be at a wrestlemania in the future. Not at a random PPV.
