No. He was in WWE before as "The USA Guy" Derrick Bateman.

I think he'll be back in WWE eventually. He's too entertaining not to.

He's my favorite thing in TNA right now. Fantastic entrance, he's changed his character a LOT from Derrick Bateman, great mannerisms and the finisher looks better because guys who sell harder are taking it. He could really be something

He's doing his job perfectly so far, insofar that his character is meant to be a legitimately talented, gifted guy who's also spoiled rotten and would rather take shortcuts. Classic heel booking.
He also moves well and has great mannerisms so far in the ring. Really want to see what he can do with a major match on a card.

I think he's trash. He hasn't looked good at all in those squash matches, IMO.

One thing with him is I feel he's definitely a product of the WWE developmental system, he was in it for about 5 years, and he even got his start in OVW after WWE cut ties. So I think he is definitely a credit to that system and WWE producing talent that they might not take advantage of, but other people can. Certainly, ECIII can benefit now from working indies, working in TNA, and maybe even a Japan, Mexico or European trip if he's booked on one. Sometimes I feel the system gets a bad rep, but he's definitely shown that it can work. He comes to the ring looking like a star, he has simple mannerisms down, and I do like how TNA is going slow with him.

I think he's trash. He hasn't looked good at all in those squash matches, IMO. Nah, man. I get it. Like, what are they building towards with this gimmick? Legit competition to kick the crap out of him, right? It'd be something if he were in competitive matches but the Carter name easily tips things to his favor but it's just like...doesn't this gimmick hinge on us believing he actually sucks?

I'm not feeling him. When the most entertaining stuff about him are the jobbers that he's wrestling against then I don't think it's particularly good. Not to mention that until this week his wheels have been turning but nothing has been happening.
Additionally, he's roided up to the gills.

I was one of the few that couldn't stand Derrick Bateman, is he improved from those days?

I was one of the few that couldn't stand Derrick Bateman, is he improved from those days? If your problem with him was him trying way too hard to be funny every time he said something, then yes because he plays it straight.

He is awesome. I love his gimmick and theme. He is one of the best things TNA right now. I think he has been great too. I really hope they don't have him in a long running angle that ends a month after his contract runs out. I also wish the had kept Christy saying the following five times when he entered. I think that really added to the entrance.
