KISS got in on the fan vote, the whole thing is a bigger farce than the WWE hall of fame Its not like they didn't deserve it Even without the fan vote. no i meant thats the only way they got in and its dumb they should have been in years ago, regardless of how serious they are musically they made a bigger impact on music than Linda Ronstadt

Nirvana don't deserve to be in the Hall... Not yet. Not when there's bands like Deep Purple and Yes. They deserved the spot more than any of them. Nirvana are fine, but let the classic rock bands that helped build everything we know and love today be in there. Maybe next year Nirvana could have taken a spot. But now? Come on. I agree. Nirvana absolutely belongs in there, but Deep Purple and Yes should have gone in first. As pleased as I am about Kiss finally getting inducted, Deep Purple should have really been in first. All in all though, I can't complain. This is the best Hall Of Fame class in years. Everyone going in deserves to be there.

KISS absolutely should have been in years ago. The Hall of Fame just gained some credibility (even if it took the fan vote)
Now if we can only get Weird Al his righful place
EDIT: This is a really stacked class, though.

Definitely the most mainstream class I can remember in a long time. Thank you, fan voting.

very happy KISS finally got in, though i have that feeling the hall will go "just the original 4 guys" and i can throw a fit again how Josh Klinghoffer is a hall of famer but Bruce Kulick and Eric Carr wont be...
also very happy for Cat Steven's too as i grew up listening to his music.

It will just be Ace Frehley, Paul Stanley, Peter Criss, and Gene Simmons, at least according to music historian and radio host Eddie Trunk, who claims to have spoken to Frehley as well as Peter Criss's wife.

KISS got in on the fan vote, the whole thing is a bigger farce than the WWE hall of fame The fan vote doesn't get you into the hall. It wins you one vote on the official ballot. Essentially, the entirety of the fan vote counts for one towards the act that won. The fan vote didn't get them in unless their induction came down to one vote.

I know the Hall means nothing overall, but I'm very happy that KISS finally got in. I'll just be interested to see if they show up at all, because I can't see a situation where Paul, Gene, Ace and Peter are all in the same room and things go smoothly. I know Ace doesn't like Paul and Gene, but Peter flat out hates them the way Axl and Slash hate each other. If nothing else, I'm sure he won't be there ad that's fine by me. And now a word from Gene and Paul. The spirit of rock and roll for me has always meant following the paths I choose regardless of what my critics or my peers think. For 40 years KISS has built an army that apologizes to no one and I'm honored to be inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame knowing we have remained true to ourselves and our fans. ~~ Paul Stanley To the KISS Army, Ace, Peter, Eric Carr, Vinnie, Mark, Bruce, Tommy and Eric Singer, Bill Aucoin, Doc McGhee and to my partner of 40 years, the ever youthful Paul Stanley...and all the members of the KISS Family. This honor is for you. 40 years of Rockin' and still going strong. ~~ Gene Simmons

I'm happy with the inductions.
Just keep Courtney Love away from the ceremony and everything will be fine.

As does Chicago. My biggest issue with the Hall of Fame is the committee's strict adherence to the tastes of both mainstream America and cofounder Jann Wenner. By doing so, they ignore a host of groups/performers that are often cited as hugely influential despite the lack of prolonged mainstream success (They Might Be Giants, Devo, The Raspberries), their limited appeal outside of their chosen genre (Ronnie James Dio, Iron Maiden, Conway Twitty), and/or popularity in America (Slade, The Move, Cold Chisel). To me, it's no different than the "early influences" subsection. The fact they weren't played on US top 40 stations (or in Wenner's office) shouldn't trump their overall impact.

Sadly, Linda Ronstadt has Parkinson's disease and can no longer sing, nor will she'll be able to attend the ceremony. She's been eligible since 1994. I wish for her sake she could have gotten in sooner so she would have been able to enjoy it. But no, Madonna's much more important .

Honestly, I think it suits Kiss that the fans got them in.
They were never considered the pinnacle of music by their critics, but by god their fans love them. What better narrative than to have their fans basically force the established hall to take them seriously and put them in? It's like the misfit frat vs. the stuffy dean in an 80's college movie, only with more face paint and leather onesies.
