All the arguments AGAINST Bryan sound like arguments that support the op. Maybe he isn't as big a money maker as Cena. Maybe he's not popping the ratings, but really is that his job? A WWE wrestler's job is to sell a story inside and outside the ring and connect with the crowd, that's pretty much it. And Bryan's obviously done that better than anyone on the roster this year. When Cena came to RAW he didn't pop the rating, however they built up a story and promoted the heck out of HHH's quest for the new gold on RAW. WWE needs to find ways to capitalize on the connection he's made with the crowd.
Do people think Austin designed his countless shirts and hats. No he said I'm a rattlesnake and they printed rattlesnake shirts that looked as good as any other shirts people wore at the time. The Rock got big brahma bull shirts. Daniel Bryan gets hashtag goatface or a flying goat. Yeah because goats are something you want to wear in public. Also don't forget he was called a goat as an insult. People wore Austin 316 shirts and Don't Trust Anybody not Bald Trailer Trash Redneck shirts. Millions of people are chanting YES! YES! YES! and there are 3 Daniel Bryan shirts for sale with that catch phrase on it on the WWEshop. You're choices are maroon, pink and one that's called the goatface shirt.
Daniel Bryan is known by viewers of Total Divas, so he has obvious crossover appeal, yet they haven't pushed him outside of their bubble. Miz gets sent out on more outside endeavors, because they trust him and he is good at it. It's probably why he got his title run honestly. Have you seen Daniel on any tv show besides Divas or wrestling. He has the charm to pull that off imo. I don't think he will surpass Cena in that department but Machoman never surpassed Hogan in that department either but he still got a ton of miles out of his crossover appeal.

Good point. I'm just holding out hope that they give us the right ending at least. I can forgive the bad early storytelling if the payoff is there. Yeah, but since its it seems like a three way at the Royal Rumble, considering standard WWE booking protocol, it doesn't seem likely. Then again, that does leave open a completely unexpected rumble winner...so maybe a Cena vs. Bryan opener with draw 1 vs. 30 on the line? Which is whoever loses going in number 1 after a possible 20+ minute match and winning the rumble would be crazy and if it's Bryan make him at least the most badass rumble winner ever would be cool. Or the 2 losers of the match get entered or something. Still, once you f*** up chapter 1, chapter 20 doesn't mean as much. Yeah, Stone Cold winning the 1998 rumble was predictable, but that doesn't mean the crowd wasn't as in to it. His story was set in motion already. It's crowd investment, not unpredictability that sells. Plus if it's Cena vs. Bryan that would mean Orton doesn't defend the title at all at the rumble, which I'd honestly prefer, especially since there isn't a fued for him on the side. It's amazing, WWE is predictable yet not at the same time. I don't think a triple threat at the rumble is as much of a given as most. My guess is Bryan settles his feud with the Wyatt's, then wins the rumble. Cena gets his rematch with Orton and takes a less than clean loss.

Bryan will be one of the last 2 people in the rumble, when HHH suddenly hits the ring, kick pedigree then throws Bryan out.
Then he picks up a mic and says "RUMBLE IS NO DQ LOL"
He actually says LOL.

Why can't WWE commit to Steve Austin? Steve Austin is without a doubt the most over guy on the entire roster, and he was set for a big push for Wrestlemania by winning the Royal Rumble. However, that push quickly got derailed by taking away his title shot and having him lose to Bret Hart AGAIN. Why is it that WWF isn't willing to pull the trigger on Steve Austin? Why can't the company commit to CM Punk? His pipebomb got a major reaction but then they had him return and lost the title quickly to Alberto Del Rio. And then instead of feuding for the title right away he lost one match to Triple H. He's been buried!

Yeah why isn't Daniel Bryan ever on TV, or in main events, or in big feuds, or long important matches.
They must hate that guy.

Truth be told I don't think WWE knows quite what to do with the main event scene at this point. There are roughly 3 different major babyfaces vying for the top spot going into WM (Cena, Punk, Bryan). The world really doesn't need another round of Cena/Orton at WM. Bryan/Orton is being done to death all over TV. So that kind of leaves Punk/Orton as the only semi fresh match up here. I think Punk takes the Rumble this year, because there really isn't another fresh match. I know there's some rumor of Punk vs. HHH but the idea sucks and it's a waste of Punk's time. Let Cena mess around with HHH at WM in some sort of "Company on the line" match.

No joke on nothing, I seriously can't believe people are still using ratings as justification that Bryan isn't over. It is 2013. NOBODY ON THE ACTIVE ROSTER, WITH THE POSSIBLE EXCEPTION OF JOHN CENA , IS A CONSISTENT RATINGS OR BUYRATE DRAW. THE BRAND NAME OF WWE IS WHAT DRAWS. Like, holy shit. How many times does that have to be said? But hey, whatever pushes your agenda, right? This post should just be stickied into every ratings breakdown thread on this board.

If I booked WM, here's how I'd book the main events: Randy Orton vs. CM Punk vs. Daniel Bryan (WWE Championship - HBK special referee) John Cena & The Rock (with Vince McMahon) vs. Sheamus & Triple H (Battle for control of WWE) Undertaker vs. Brock Lesnar w/Heyman (No Holds Barred)

If WWE shows anymore commitment to Bryan, his new ring name will be Poochie.

because he has a shitty entrance music. I'm dead serious. Give him Alex Riley's entrance music and he'll be the new Steve Austin.
