Will Cena break Flair's record or tie it? I cant picture the WWE not giving Cena atleast one reign with the WWE World Heavyweight title (which would put him up to 15). But will he get any after that?

On last Total Divas episode Cena said that he'll work next 10 years (and thats why he doesnt want kids) so I'd guess he'll have another 15 reigns in next 10 years.
Flair who? Cena is at 28 reigns.

Flair is a guarantee, at this point I expect Cena to eclipse Jerry Lawler's number of Universal Championship runs. He had something like 27 or 28 of them.

I have no doubt that he will.
Even if Cena were to decide to retire sometime soon, I could see the WWE hot potatoing the title a few times, just to make sure he breaks it.

Flair's "legit" record is more like 21, the WWE only recognizes some of the NWA reigns because of political stuff. Who knows if Cena will get to that level, or if he'll become like Undertaker/HBK where he's bigger than the title.

I can't wait for the day he does. Then the Cena haters will be like: Oh yeah well who cares Flair really has like 22 reigns, stupid WWE only counts 16 though.

Would anyone who watched WCW be a "Cena hater" then? His announced 17th title win was live on Nitro. Even if we don't count some of the one night switchbacks, which I'm perfectly fine with, stopping at 16 does bug me just because it's lazy. Point is moot, though, since Cena will wind up closer to 30 most likely. Flair 16 stood out because it was double Harley's total. Hogan is an 11 time champion per McMahonovision, so Cena's (at minimum) finishing with 22.

Cena will break Flair's record and then pull his face off to reveal that he was Ric Flair all along!

He's only been married once, and he's said he doesn't want to get married again. He won't threaten Flair's record.

Is it just WWE doesn't count the other Flair title wins or the NWA/WCW that doesn't count them? I guess if it is your title you can pick if you count them or not. I remember a while back someone saying they were the AWA tried to count a few Hogan wins, but since they don't own the AWA they couldn't make that call.

While I have absolutely no doubt that Cena would have possibly been the same kind of draw, what makes Flair's 16 to 22 reigns great, is the fact that wherever he went, he was the top guy. When you win all your titles in one company, that's simply one company believing in you. Flair's reigns for the most part are more special due to this.

Yeah, because you're backstage and know better than everyone else on Cena's mentality towards the business, which just happens to be different than what everyone besides Tyler Rex and Brian Kendrick say. Its more like Vince thinks that a PPV can't sell without Cena in the main event, which honestly seems to be the case.

Most certainly. Triple H and Orton probably will too. Now that there's just one belt thanks god all these ridiculous numbers of title reigns should cool down.

He'll have it at least tied by the time 2014 is over. There is no way they can resist putting the belt on Cena at least once or twice per year. If they manage to avoid giving him any title runs this coming year I will be genuinely surprised.

The WWE will announce Flair's real title reign count as soon as Cena hits 16 and then Cena will never surpass Flair. They're just waiting until they have no choice but to allow his other reigns.
Honestly I only see Cena having maybe 3-4 more reigns anymore regardless.
1 - Short Face reign 2 - Long Heel reign (when he finally turns heel) 3 - Long Final face reign
Maybe a random reign in there anyway.
