Why did they even turn Ryback heel anyway? As we saw with Bryan vs. Cena last year, they could've easily had both Ryback and Cena still faces while feuding for the title. Cena had just finished the Rock angle. I don't think they wanted to follow up a face/face feud with a second one.

Macho Man turning on Hogan was a longterm plan, certainly not a desperate move out of the blue. His babyface turn the year before was a closer example.

Cena had just finished the Rock angle. I don't think they wanted to follow up a face/face feud with a second one. But they didn't have to go with a Cena/Ryback feud. Especially considering how many straight PPV losses Ryback had up to that point. It would have made more sense if they did Cena/Henry there instead of later on.
