Can she really use that if she doesn't know where she's going? Pretty sure she has used it without knowing where she was going. Besides we don't know the limits of it. Remember how we all thought at first she needed direct line of sight/be on solid ground to do it? And then the show promptly blew that up by having her teleport in mid air. It is why I called them hax teleportation powers. It pretty much does whatever the writers need it to. No she hasn't. She's only used it to teleport somewhere within her direct vicinity or to escape back to her library. She's never seen the plaza, so I don't think she can teleport there.

The next one... {Spoiler}{Spoiler} 16.SC Freiburg (trained by Carrot Top) 3 wins 5 draws 9 losses 16 goals scored 31 goals received 14 points Carrot Top started eager into the season, wanting to show the pros of her vegetarian diet for sports teams that will enable them to be better than before....However, it did not turn out alright at all for her, her team never getting into gear and finding itself at the bottom. Carrot had a crisis of identity late in this first half which stopped after a win in the last game... Carrot Top: While it has not been good so far this season, the last win gave me hope that my vegetarian diet plan is perhaps a late bloomer and will work now! I will continue with it and show them all that my plan will make a team better ultimately! You'll see!

I also think that she wouldn't try teleporting in a crowded city as opposed to where she's used it due to unfamiliarity and risk. No sense putting her friends in a stone/concrete wall.

Still point remains, they can(and have) bent what we thought it could do. So still a valid con to me. And even without her teleportation they still had other options to get there fast without the exclusive need of a taxi(they do have 3 flyers after all). Point is they didn't specifically need a taxi, so that scene was a dumb and unneeded one.

I actually had totally forgot about Twilight teleporting until now.
Wonder if she could have the dresses teleported there if she wanted to.

I think it is a bit of a difference between a flight between two different parts of Equestria and two parts of a city.

Well obviously because the flyers would get tired. But a simple fly through the city isn't going to tire them out too much. I don't know why you are seemingly trying to defend this scene. Now I'll say that the scene would've been fine....if the entirety of the Mane 6 wasn't in the episode and were specifically right there in that scene. That's why I don't like this scene, because with all 6 of them there it just doesn't make sense. At all.

Basically what I'm saying is we don't see the pegasi transporting anypony anywhere by themselves. The only times they carried other ponies were to save them from falling.
It just doesn't seem practical.

I think he does not defend the scene directly, but more why they could not teleport in that scene.

It just doesn't seem practical. It isn't practical, but in cases of emergency practicality goes out the window. Besides, if you desperately need to be somewhere in 10 minutes, would you really take a taxi in a NYC expy?

Twilight being a princess has become a "damned if they do, damned if they don't" scenario, because I'll bet if they let her do some princessy stuff, the other detractors would come out and say "Here look at that princess Twilight, cutting in line before anypony else at that cabstand, thinking herself better than anypony else, where is old non-alicorn Twilight, its now the Princess Twilight and her 5 serfs show!"

You know speaking of princess Twilight.....why hasn't she been using her royal chariot(I think she has one?)?

There's also the possibility of them not knowing exactly where it was, hence needing a cab where the driver would know. Remember, none of them have been to Manehattan sans AJ who only went for a brief period when she was a filly.
