All I know about this film is they made Aaron Eckhart look a lot like the lead singer from Motionless in White. ![](http://www.liveforfilms.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/10/xaaron-eckhart-in-i-frankenstein.jpg.pagespeed.ic_.2iWZJCUrhG.jpg) ![](https://pbs.twimg.com/profile_images/378800000283295326/cb66002f4d463eed5f6b0796b9e168a2.jpeg)

It's a shame, as when I first heard the original premise- Eckhart is Frankenstein's monster surviving into today, it sounded like it coulda been interesting, and he's really talented.
Then the trailer comes out and you see it's an Underworld/Van Helsing sorta deal. Pass.

I don't get it. At all. It's kind of a small horse, I mean what am I missing? Am I crazy?

It does look pretty damn terrible. I saw a trailer for it before the Desolation of Smaugh, it just seemed so....generic.

Stupid sexy Frankenstein....
Seriously though this movie looks like it could be hilariously stupid...

I don't really get those weird sequels/spin-offs of classic tales to begin with considering they usually have very little to do with the original works aside from characters' names. Wouldn't it make for much more interesting stories to use these works as inspiration and create something new since so much is already changed anyway?

I did see a review that said the opening of this movie follows the original novel pretty closely (which not even the Frankenstein movies do)... and then goes off on it's random tangent of Frankenstein demon hunter...

Fleshes out a centuries-old story so that it's more than "Guy gets magic beans, climbs up beanstalk, kills giant." It didn't hurt that the effects and the acting were solid.

Wouldn't it make for much more interesting stories to use these works as inspiration and create something new since so much is already changed anyway? Like I said before, if they'd done something where "Adam" survived his clash with Victor in the Arctic all those years ago, and has survived all the way till now, and the story was about this creature that was the only one of his kind that's functionally immortal and how lonely he must be trying to find a way to happiness etc in the modern world.. that's at least the kernel of something interesting. I don't know where you'd develop the story from there, but the premise at least seems to invite some interesting ideas. But once you introduce all these other supernatural elements and stuff and make it a big, dumb actioner, no one cares anymore.

So would you rather go see this, or the current Hercules movie?

Ouch. And I was pretty intrigued by this movie and was considering seeing it. Aaron Eckhart deserves so much better. ![:(](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/sad.png)

So it's basically legion 2 except instead of the Angel Gabriel we get Frankenstein's Monster.
