On a personal level my biggest issue wasn't Batista winning, though out of the final two I'd have preffered Reigns. My issue is that a very simple Wrestlemania story has been ruined, one that many expected and hoped for.
Bryans rise to the top was obvious and the fans want it, they have lightning in a bottle, similar to Austin levels of break out, and they keep burying it. The fans will only take it for so long.
I honestly felt like I was watching WCW 2000 of stupidity.
Booking is simple when you have someone who's so over, they keep trying to be so smart and force HHH buddies down our throat.

I'm going to throw out something that just occurred to me. How weird is it that the guy who was for many years the king of the indies, who on being brought on to the roster initially feuded with Michael Cole and was so incapable of winning that when he pinned Santino in a handicap match he celebrated like crazy, will forever have to his credit that without even being part of it he's the guy who completely overshadowed the goddamn Royal Rumble match and made it all about him? It is, just like Daniel Bryan's entire WWE career so far, completely and wonderfully surreal. I've honestly never seen anything like this, the groundswell of near-unanimous support and emotion this guy generates from fans in the arenas AND online is absolutely incredible. This very well might be the plan, the "new kayfabe" that was mentioned before, and if so it is working big time. HOWEVER. If it isn't, and WWE are deliberately trying to kill off Bryan, then the next couple of months up to and probably climaxing at WrestleMania is going to be very awkward. Because judging on the reactions last night, the fans are not going to let WWE forget about Daniel Bryan any time soon.

I've never felt legitimately annoyed at a professional wrestling match outcome (indeed, I used to mock those that did), but last night... I dunno if there is some grander scheme to this (I doubt it) but it seems so dumb to not give Bryan his moment. Even Punk. Give Punk the accolade he's missing. Batista though? I'm a fan, but I now wish he hadn't come back. It was simple. Have him toss out a few people, then get eliminated by Sheamus or Lesnar, setting up a Mania match. Big Dave doesn't need that "moment". He got his in 2005. Bryan earned his. WWE sucks.

it's times like these where i'm thankful I hardly watch WWE nowdays (Old school dvds aside). Me too. I came back for a few episodes of Raw because I heard Bryan was getting some TV time, but now I know I don't have to worry that I'm gonna miss anything amazing. Vince isn't interested in entering the "amazing things on my TV" market anymore, looks like. Now I can devote my TV time on Monday nights to shows about Alaska or aliens. Thanks Vince! (Seriously, though, the lack of passion on the part of the WWE's creative team is astounding. They had such an opportunity with Bryan to do something memorable and striking, and no one cared. Why create something new when there's a perfectly good paint-by-numbers page sitting right there, right? Wow.)

I still think someway, somehow,Daniel Bryan will wind up in the main event at WM. The company is just jerking everyone around. They can't be this clueless. WM will be the payoff.
It's like when they messed Steve Austin around in the storyline, but they have blurred the lines here between what you see on tv and what's going on seemingly in real life. Daniel Bryan is just in the role now and it seems real

I mean, hats off to the people who still seriously think Bryan is getting his moment and that this is part of WWE's bigger picture.
I've just accepted they have no idea what in the actual f*** they are doing.

He's their new "LOLNOONEBEATSME" demi-god duy.

I mean, hats off to the people who still seriously think Bryan is getting his moment and that this is part of WWE's bigger picture. I've just accepted they have no idea what in the actual f*** they are doing. That's half the problem. With everything that goes on with people getting their hopes up about Bryan getting his big win, there's an equal chance he won't get jack all from it. That's why people are so nervous. For all we know, he may lose to Sheamus in the first match in 20 seconds. People want this win, and there's a very real chance the WWE won't give it to them.

Y'know I don't watch or really follow wrestling anymore but to get a mainstream news site to report on it is significant in itself. (Even if it is only Newsbeat)

Here's my thing. I'm never usually the guy to get up in arms about a guy getting slighted and 'buried' and whatnot.
I'm not so much of a 'wait and see' guy as much as I'm a 'I'll give it a chance' guy. I'll give just about anything a chance to either suck or be awesome. I never go into something wanting to hate it or whatever. Things I don't like I'll be whatever on.
This though? I don't know. Something about Batista winning smells really bad and I don't care for it one bit.
