The sucks if it's true. I don't blame him though, he looked f***ed at the Royal Rumble.

Kofi. Punk's best friend (on the tour) and easily replaceable. Then it would be AJ, who is way more over than Kofi and I think less replaceable. Kofi is like Undertaker. He can no show 364 days a year but you know that he'll be there when it matters. Undertaker shows up for Mania, and Kofi is Mr. Royal Rumble. Now that you've put the idea out there they might just...do that.

That's nice but if Punk becomes politically unpopular Kofi would be the first one to suffer negatively from that. Just by Punk being gone it affects his travel and stuff like that. Probably AJ too, but she is more of a commodity and I think less seen as being disposable.

What's Mr. Royal Rumble without a flawless centre of balance?

For those thinking this had something to do with Batista, CM Punk had an interview recently where he said Batista's return is different since unlike Rock and Brock, he's returning full time for a good period of time. It's hard to say whether Punk knew what the plans for Batista was at the time. He may have been fine with him returning but not with him getting the Rumble win and title shot at Mania. Though really, this is one of these things where I doubt we ever find out the real reason. Considering prior to Batista signed that signs pointed to CM Punk winning the Royal Rumble, I think he probably knew. This interview as also done this week if I'm not mistaken in between Raw and the Rumble. As much as people aren't going to want to hear it, Punk probably lost his match with Triple H to Daniel Bryan and now he has no big match for WrestleMania and he's pissed.

That does make you kind of wonder if the plan was for the Triple H / Punk match to close out Mania. Could be as a result he didn't see that as a step down from the Orton match, but if he lost that too it is pretty natural he'd be pissed.

CM took his ball and went home like Austin Now the Rock will come out next Monday and tell Punk to "get the F out."

I can't imagine not getting to wrestle HHH being the breaking point that caused CM Punk to walk out. I'm not saying he WOULDN'T quit over something seemingly not a big deal (because Punk is a known hot head in that regard), but not getting to put on a barn burner with Trips - that's probably not one of them.

if there's anyone on the roster who's getting "punished" for Punk leaving, it's Bryan. Kofi. Punk's best friend (on the tour) and easily replaceable. Not simply losing his match to Triple H, but losing being part of one of the main events. For all intents and purposes, this is probably what WrestleMania looks like now: Randy Orton vs. Batista Daniel Bryan vs. Triple H The Undertaker vs. Brock Lesnar John Cena vs. Bray Wyatt That leaves Punk with what? Sheamus? The Shield again? He went from main event to 5th biggest match AT BEST

Really surprised the money thing hasn't been addressed more, not only in this thread but in general. I never even considered the factor the WWE Network could have on wrestler pay. PPV is a HUGE part of their pay, especially top guys, and the fact that WWE hasn't told them what's going on with that should understandably be a huge point of contention.
That honestly makes the most sense as a "straw that broke the camels back"

Well, this sucks majorly.
It sucks that Punk has left like this but the guy was burned out to the max. Being on a schedule like WWE's with the only time off being given that wasn't related to injuries only lasting two months can't be good for your health, especially for someone who's as against drugs as Punk is (not saying that I advocate drugs or anything, but I'm just saying a lack of painkillers and sleeping pills for someone with insomnia like Punk on that schedule sounds like a nightmare).
Why is it always my favourites that end up quitting? Austin quit in '02, Angle quit in '06 and now Punk has quit. I feel like I'm cursing some of these wrestlers.
I wish I could say that this will send a message to Vince not just in terms of the booking but also the WWE's road schedule but I doubt it. Just like he said in his Pipe Bomb promo: "I'm just another spoke on the wheel. The wheel's going to keep turning."

Well, this f***ing sucks. Bryan is my last hope. I know people say this all the time, but Bryan is the only one that's really keeping me watching now. And that is a thin lifeline to have in this company.
