Wonder what WWE will look like 5 years from now... Hell 2 years from now... Really scary if their business plan from now on is to rely on old talent to push the product for a certain amount of months. Main event of WrestleMania 33: Kurt Angle vs. John Cena for the WWE Championship.

This could just be the start of aggressive negotiations. There is still time to fix plenty of this before WrestleMania. He might still want to take a break come this summer but I think a short term deal could be reached.

Really scary if their business plan from now on is to rely on old talent to push the product for a certain amount of months. They've already started this motto, it's been going on for the past three years and I don't see them stopping any time soon. That really scares me and is so unfair to all of the talent who bust their ass nearly 300 days a year.

I don't think so. Neither side really *needs* each other right now. It's not like Punk vs HHH was the match that was selling Wrestlemania and Punk has been reported to have saved well so he isn't someone who needs the money.

CM Punk was seriously wounded, but his fire still burns. Always.

As Punk leaves, we see WWE hire a new masked wrestler, only known as the Mysterious and Handsome Stranger. He wrestles some matches, gains a fanbase, and everyone starts singing his praises, saying, "Who needs CM Punk? We have the Mysterious and Handsome Stranger." Even Stephanie McMahon starts to be impressed with him, maybe a little more.
Then, at some pay-per-view, the Mysterious and Handsome Stranger wins the WWE Championship, as the Authority applauds him. They join him in the ring, but he stops, and turns, looking to take off his mask. He unmasks, and reveals to be.............CM PUNK!!!
Yeah, I stole that from Chikara, but I like it, DAMMIT!!

It is true that WWE needs Punk more than Punk needs WWE right now. But that doesn't mean Punk isn't willing to take a fat Mania paycheck with a short term arrangement. I'm not sure WWE wants to learn the hard away again about changing Mania plans. If there was any other person on the roster the WWE audience would hijack a show for, it's probably CM Punk. Unfortunately for WWE the March 3rd RAW will be in Chicago. With other things on WWE's plate like the launch of the WWE network and potential worrying about the Snuka case, they might just revisit the rest of their Mania plans this week. If for nothing else, peace of mind. But we'll see.

If anything, this whole week has pretty much given WWE no choice but to change whatever WrestleMania plans they had prior to the Rumble, if only to avoid another groundswell of negativity on the grand stage of WrestleMania.

Which from a business sense may be against what WWE feels is best. Clearly they want to make sure that Batista keeps momentum by putting him immediately into the main event and not doing what they did with RVD by making him feel unimportant almost immediately. But someone's gonna have to sit out unless they REALLY arrange the card, which I don't think is possible at this point
