I eagerly look forward to three hours of dueling "DAN-IEL BRY-AN" / "C-M PUNK!" chants on Monday. As a person who looks forward to walking from my job by the middle of next month due to various reasons stupidity and stagnation i can't be mad at Punk at all.

The WWE facebook page is pretty funny right now. It's totally overrun by Cm Punk and Daniel Bryan comments in WWE posted stories not pertaining to them at all.

I kinda like to imagine this would have happened... CM Punk: Calm down, Punky diddily diddily diddily, doodily. They did their best shodaiddily iddily iddily diddily diddily. Gotta be nice, hostidididildilidilly... aw, hell-diddly-ding-dong crap! CAN'T YOU MORONS DO ANYTHING RIGHT?! *everyone gasps* Vince McMahon: Punk! We meant well and everyone here tried their best. CM Punk: Well, my friends and I can't wrestle in good intentions, Vince! Oh, your family's out of control, but we can't blame you, because you have good intentions! Aurora Rose: Hey! Back off, man! CM Punk: Ooh, okay, little girl! I wouldn't want you to have a cow, man! Here's a catch-phrase you better learn for your adult years: "Hey, buddy, got a quarter?" *everyone gasps* Aurora Rose: I am shocked and appalled. Stephanie McMahon: Mr. Punk, with all due respect, Aurora Rose didn't do anything. CM Punk: Do I hear the sound of butting in? It's gotta be little Stephanie McMahon, WWE's answer to a question no one asked! Jerry Lawler: *laughs* CM Punk: What do we have here? - The long flabby arm of the law? The last case you got the bottom of, was a case of Mallomars! John Laurinaitis: Mallomars, oh haha. That's going in the act. CM Punk: Oh yeah, the clown. The only one of you buffoons who doesn't make me laugh. And as for you, I don't know you, but I'm sure you're a jerk! Mojo Rawley: Hey, I've only been here a few minutes! What's going on? CM Punk: You ugly, hate-filled man! Kevin Dunn: Hey, hey, I may be ugly and hate-filled, but I... um, what was the third thing you said? CM Punk: Hunter, you are the worst human being I have ever met. Triple H: Hey, I got off pretty easy. I would have swapped Lawler and Laurinitis... though neither really work for Wiggum... at least Lawler is supposed to be funny

So, if wrestling history repeats itself... Does this make CM Punk Bret, and Daniel Bryan Austin? Punk as the guy whose had a number of title reigns but grows sick of the company and leaves suddenly under mysterious circumstances, whilst Bryan is the guy who started to get over by feuding with the other, and whose talents have made him the hottest guy in the company?

I think it's more like Shawn and Bret in 1996 when Bret took an extended sabbatical at the end of his contract and no one knew if he was gonna resign or what.

Fits into my Cena is HBK thoughts I think that'd make Reigns Rock. Except Cena and Reigns will actually work with each other.

Kind of an aside but I'm not into the "If I can't enjoy the show. NO ONE CAN." mentality that a lot of people have lately.
Just seems...I dunno. Childish may be too harsh but I'm not with it either way.

Cute To be fair if you're playing in a theatrical form of entertainment and the crowd shits on half of your booked angles week in week out for a good part of 6 months then the WWE is the problem there, not the fans.

Well, if Punk's the new Bret Hart, he at least has Hitman-themed attire.

Vince: We want you to face HHH at Mania instead of being in the main event for the title Punk: But we already did that match. It's a complete waste. Vince: Okay well then we'll go with plan B and have HHH face Bryan at the PPV and we'll have HHH go over you on Raw leading up to Mania. Punk: You can't do me vs HHH on Raw. That's a PPV caliber match! And then who do I face at the PPV? Vince: We have Greg Valentine lined up Punk: I declare....BANKRUPTCY!!!! *runs out*

Have Bryan win the Chamber. Have Punk challenge and beat Batista at EC for his Mania title shot. Punk vs Bryan main event at Mania. Kills two birds with one stone. Makes Punk happy and shuts up the pro-Bryan crowds. Will never happen of course (Vince would never want to be seen as giving in to the fans or a wrestler) but if they wanted to fix these "issues" they could find a way relatively easily. Could still do most of the other planned Mania matches too. Bryan needs to prove he's more than a B+ player at Wrestlemania. He can't do that unless he's beating one of the Authority's "chosen ones", which CM Punk certainly is not. It's REALLY too bad they didn't go this route. Having Punk be the face of the company. Having him be the one to defend the Authority and be a corporate kissass. It goes against absolutely everything Punk spoke of in 2011. Then you insert Bryan, and having Punk tell Bryan that selling out isn't so bad and that he should try it. You can bring up their past. You can acknowledge that Bryan is picking up the flag for what Punk used to stand for. It could have been a really good story. But not. Goatfaced troll. Face of the company Orton. Royal Rumble winner Batista. That's the route. *sigh*

WWE has an article about Superstars with unique fighting styles and, despite never being mentioned, CM Punk is in the list of tagged Superstars. So, maybe I'm jumping to conclusions, but it would seem that they're keeping quite on him and pulled his part of the article out for the time being (not that I blame them).

I definitely hope you're right. Although I don't want people to barrack Batista over this either, actually. Feels like blaming the symptom, not the cause. He kind of is the cause. He could've turned down the Rumble win and Mania spot, and he could've offered to put guys over.
