A humble guy who realizes he had his time and that it's time for the next generation to step up and get their chance? I don't want to go that far with Batista. He's been given a great offer, there's almost no reason why he shouldn't run with it. One could argue that Batista doesn't represent what's best for WWE's long term business interests, but that's not really Batista's responsibility to worry about. The onus is on the creative teams, on the owners, on the investors, etc. etc. etc. It's why it's silly to show up for a show to boo the top acts; so long as fans keep showing up, why shouldn't those guys remain the top acts (or at least that's the argument that you'll get)? If you hate a company's direction and dislike the guys they keep pushing as the best in the business, then just don't give them your money. Honestly, if I thought for half a second that two factors would change, I'd have no issue at all with Batista in the main event. Older star on the downside of his career, putting over a young guy? That's Andre, who (for the time and the way his body was hurting 24/7) took a bump that had to hurt him for days because he wanted a young guy to be cemented as THE guy. Dave's working with someone who they've been trying to establish as a top draw, and failing, for a decade. Also, Dave's not coming back to do the job. He's beating Randy, he's the "new face of WWE" since he's a movie star AND a buddy, and he'll lose to either Cena or a (since it works so well) face Orton down the road. Punk, in his shoot, basically laid out a blue print of "this is what will happen" and in many respects we've seen it all happen. Yes, NETWORK, but cable companies are pissed, fans are pissed, we had four straight PPV's get large enough demands for refunds that it made ctual news, and in the last week alone the mainstream papers have run stories that are not flattering, when normally they wouldn't even take notice outside of a Benoit incident.

didn't they tease Punk/HHH on the Raw prior to TLC? how could he have not had even a small idea that it would go that route? Yeah, this has been teased on TV since Nov. and talked about in the news since Oct. so there is no way Punk didn't know and that is why I am doubt the bit about this match being one of the big problems.

So, does that prove that Dixie doesn't do her own tweeting? No way that was written by anyone over the age of 17.

If you watch his documentary and listen to his interviews from 2011-onward, you can tell how sincere he was about wanting to change WWE for the betterment of the talent and the fans. He re-signed because he believed that he could make that change from the inside, and look where we are two years later. I'm not saying he's completely unselfish because no one is, but he may have just thrown himself on a sword to force change on WWE for everyone fighting against that glass ceiling, not just himself.

So, if wrestling history repeats itself... Does this make CM Punk Bret, and Daniel Bryan Austin? Punk as the guy whose had a number of title reigns but grows sick of the company and leaves suddenly under mysterious circumstances, whilst Bryan is the guy who started to get over by feuding with the other, and whose talents have made him the hottest guy in the company? I think it's more like Shawn and Bret in 1996 when Bret took an extended sabbatical at the end of his contract and no one knew if he was gonna resign or what. I can't wait for Don't Tell Me A Lie D-Bry.

So gonna just toss it out there, for posterity, fake tweets are kinda against the rules and leave it at that. Also, thanks for checking to see if it's real.

No problem...I had a feeling the owner of a company (no matter how not smart she is) would say something like that.

See, I think the evidence is pointing this way too, as there's been no 'official statement' from either camp, and I'm 99.9% sure this isn't some elaborate Xanatos Gambit work. There's lines of communication still open, I guess, and there's words flowing down them either one way or two ways. I said it before, Punk has the most leverage - whilst simultaneously the least to lose - by doing this, and it fits with his established behaviour rather well.

If this is a work and they acknowledge Punk leaving and don't shit all over him, I hope they give us a Punk montage, same song only performed by Downstait.
Which brings me to 1990's comparisons: - Punk has lost his smile. He's Shawn, minus drugs.

I hope they can get him back, even just for one last match. Give him that 'Mania main event. You gave it to Chris Benoit, who was definitely not as over nor as charismatic. I'd love to see that as his last match.
I remember a long time ago he said he was coming to the ring to Bouncing Souls "Night Train" for his final WWE match, and no one was going to tell him otherwise. So if Punk does come back and he enters for his match with that song, it'll be a tearjerker night for Punk fans.

Basically his farewell match from ROH only with Kofi instead of Colt. www.tudou.com/programs/view/3R1yw1IvA0g

Why are people spamming WWE and telling them to bring Punk back when he's the one who chose to leave?

Why are people spamming WWE and telling them to bring Punk back when he's the one who chose to leave? I think they're basically telling them to kiss his ass and do whatever he wants so they can have him back.
