If you can get past the wild facepaint, the hair, and the voice, Luna Vachon isn't quite that bad looking

The Road Warriors were also called the Legion of Doom in the NWA. I always thought that was a WWF thing. The Legion of Doom was originally a stable consisting of the Road Warriors, Jake Roberts and a few other managed by Paul Ellering. The stable didn't last long and the name fell to the Road Warriors as the stable fell apart and died. It kind of makes sense, given that a "legion" of just two guys is kind of stupid. For a very iconic and influential tag team, the Road Warriors having not one, but two derivative names is kind of funny. It'd be like if a tag team main evented now called the Dark Knights and they wore Batman costumes.

Whether or not that was any good is up for debate.

War Games matches are completely overrated. Dean Malenko was the f***ing man in WCW and he should have gotten a shot at the top title. He could believably beat anyone on the roster and the fans loved him. I saw a really funny tweet by Maffew of Botchamania fame about Malenko at some show in the mid-90s, something like 'Virtually no reaction to Malenko's entrance, mild cheers for technical wrestling, nuclear pop for the cloverleaf.' Undertaker JUMPED doing the tombstone that retired HBK. That can't have been healthy One of my favourite deliveries/sells of a move ever, that. SO brutal, amazed HBK isn't dead.

It takes Mr. Hughes 15 seconds to read, and react to "Rest In Peace From: The Undertaker".

WWF UK exclusive PPVs were, for the most part, rushed, stylized house shows. Especially Insurrextion 2001. Sure, there were some good matches (Angle/Benoit, Jericho/Regal), but they had been done to death/were in the middle of their angle and had better matches before and after them.

I've re-learned that wrestling commentary has generally always been god awful, it's not like it's a new thing with the announce team we have today.

I learned that future ECW valet Francine is sitting in the front row during episode 26 of WWF RAW cheering exclusively for Shawn during his IC Title defense against Marty Jannetty. I guess this is what her first ECW gimmick was based on.

The pop for when he takes off the Ciclope mask to return to beat Jericho is still one of the biggest pops for anyone I've seen, it's crazy.

"FAGGOT" chants were very prevalent in WCW in 1997 (Syxx would get them for the bronco buster, Alex Wright for his dance), and it's always unsettling.

I never knew that WCW PPV's had closing credits. I smile every time I see Virgil Runnels in the list. That and if I was older and lived in America, I would have loved WCW in the early 90s, roster is stacked. I saw one the other night - under "Wrestling Operations", there "Marty Lunde"... aka Arn Anderson.

I learned that on the WCW PPV "Greed". Judging by the way the wrestlers and commentators were acting, they had zero idea that the company would be gone 8 days later.

Some might have had an inkling, and I am sure some suspected the company was in trouble, but for the majority, that had to be a huge shock. The company's problems were visible, but they had managed to keep going through rough spots before, so I am sure most of them thought it would bounce back.
