I voted an 8 for Somepony to Watch Over Me. Started off a bit slow, but really picked up in the last half of the episode and anytime someone drops a Princess Bride reference into their work it always gets a few brownie points from me. (And the Equestria version of the Fire Swamp is even deadlier because instead of having Rodents of Unusual Size they have Tiger, Goat, Snake hybrids of unusual size.)

I think Fluttershy needs to give Applejack a good shouting at here.
Her behaviour this episode was just inexcusable.

BTW, I attribute AJ's overprotectiveness on AB being due to the fact that their parents are gone.

Ok, to explain my 8....
I think they kind of overdid AJ's protectiveness over Applebloom (thus my statement during the broadcast "Element of Honesty? Or element of Loyalty?"). I think the initial trip with AJ and Mac was tense enough to justify AJ's panic later when Applebloom left on her own.
Yes, POINTS [/@midnight] for the Princess Bride and Jungle book references.
Still a very strong episode. I want a Chimera plushie!!!!!!

"Somepony To Watch Over Me"...gets a 6/10 from me.
What I liked about this one:
-The fire swamp was a nice looking addition to the Equestrian map and I really dug the Chimera's design and personalities. Definitely a good addition to both Equestria's bestiary and villain list.
-I liked the CMC moments in this one. Scootabow and Sweetiebow looked adorable, I loved the bit with the song interruption and Apple Bloom doing everything with sass. The CMC were a shining light here.
-Loved the action scene with the chimera for the most part. Felt really intense.
What I didn't like about this episode:
-Seriously, did Spongebob took over AJ's brain for this episode? Being overprotective over your sister is one thing, but the levels AJ went to here went into Creepytown a bit (I mean, turning her bed into a baby crib? Really?). AJ got really handed the idiot ball in this one.
-The moral was not executed really well. It would have been stronger IMHO if Apple Bloom outsmarted the chimera herself, made a successful pie delivery, then AJ getting herself in trouble due to not being observant enough and having AB bail her out, thus proving to AJ that AB can take care of herself and AJ apologizing for being so overprotective.
But the end result with AB having to be rescued by her sister watered down the moral for me. They could have done this a lot better.
-I think the fight scene with the chimera went on too long and could have been done with better pacing.
-Otherwise, not really that memorable an episode.
Yeah, sticking with a 6/10 for now.

Hulk Hogan really let himself go. And turned into a pony. Vince is not gonna be happy for Wrestlemania.

I agree that AJ was exceptionally overboard on this one, MD, and the pacing could have been better. Being a younger sister, I get where Applebloom is coming from, and being able to have the house to yourself for the first time is a huge honor. The circumstances leading up to AJ's hovering over AB seemed a bit much, too. Don't want to come down too much farther on the score because I thought otherwise this was a good episode - and good CMC eps are hard to come by
