{Spoiler}{Spoiler}It looks like Rainbow Dash’s arrogance once again lead to her downfall in her matchup with Sparkler. The rainbow pegasus took her opponent lightly, allowing the unicorn to keep up the whole way. In the end, Sparkler pulled out a jar of peanut butter that Rainbow Dash just couldn’t help but try to open. This allowed Sparkler to hit the game winning shot, knocking Rainbow Dash back down to Equestria.

In another tight game, Braeburn narrowly got past Daisy. Both ponies put on a spectacular display on offense, but neither could really break away from the other. It all came down to the closing seconds when Braeburn hit a shot to take the lead. Daisy had an opportunity to win it with the final shot, but ultimately missed, giving the Appleloosan the victory and eliminating the first #1 seed of the tournament.

The third game again came down to the wire, as Apple Fritter battled her cousin Applejack in an absolute barnburner. These two mares knew each other well, and it showed on the court. It was all back and forth from buzzer to buzzer, both ponies staying true to the competitive nature of the Apple family. As it turned out, the pony that had the ball last was the one that walked away the winner. Applejack hit the game winning shot in the closing seconds, leaving Apple Fritter with not enough time to even get a desperation shot off. The next round could be even more intense for Applejack, as she now moves on to face her brother, Big Macintosh.

For the second time, Flam was able to expose a major weakness in his opponent, this time with Soarin’. While his specialty (if you can call it that) was in cider, Flam was able to concoct a tantalizing looking apple pie, easily distracting his opponent. While Soarin’ was off munching on the baked goodness, the con artist was able to jump out to a huge lead, allowing him to easily stroll to the next round.

It looks like epic wub time is over for DJ PON-3, as she fell to Aloe in this contest. The DJ must have worked the night before, as she looked slow and sluggish out on the court. Aloe was easily able to capitalize with a steady rhythm to take a sizable lead and eventually pull off the win. After the game, Aloe graciously offered DJ PON-3 to help her recover from the game and her nightly activities.

If you like close games that come down to the final seconds, then this certainly wasn’t the game for you, as Carrot Top had absolutely no problems grounding Rainbowshine. The golden one came out to a fast start, easily running circles around the pegasus. If this game had a mercy rule, it would have been put in effect in this one.

It was another blowout in this one, as Octavia just crushed Roseluck. It was all about defense in this one, as the classical pony made it extremely difficult for the florist to score. Difficulty leads to frustration, which leads to mistakes, which Octavia was able to capitalize on to score at will. All Roseluck could do was exclaim the horror of it all.

It seems that all the action was used up in the first three games, as the final game wasn’t even close either, as Babs Seed easily got past Cup Cake. It seems that a mother’s intuition holds true, as the Cake twins, who Cup Cake had questionably brought to the game, got scared by the game buzzer and started crying. Their mother immediately abandoned the game to tend to them, allowing the CMCer to score completely unopposed and sending her to the sweet 16.

I the only one who keeps thinking the current season is the last one? I know they've already confirmed a fifth season, just between the show being planned to end in the third season, the bigger emphasis on continuity this season, and them writing the Elements of Harmony out, it feels like the end.

Not complaining about getting more, of course. And at least the show will make it to 100 episodes (ninth episode of season five, specifically).
