So basically Undertaker decided to end the streak with Lesnar because he's such a goddamn MMA fanboy that he wanted to protect his favorite sport's image, right?

Imagine they gave RYBACK the win. That's all you need to picture.
Lesnar was the safe choice. Lesnar is already made, it makes sense that HE could be the one. It was safe. I'd like to have seen Cesaro, but the set up to a Cesaro match with Taker at this point would've been telegraphed.
Taker was terrible last night too. He's done.

I can't even process how I feel about it emotionally, I'm so shocked.
What I will say is that the appeal of the Streak in the last few years was seeing Taker put on the match of the night and last night it was very apparent that he can't do that anymore. He's had a great career but all things end.

I've said it in other places, but I'll reiterate it here: the last truly interesting thing they had to do with the streak was end it. The crowd was half asleep during the match, and even the people I was watching it with were talking and half paying attention, just kind of waiting for the eventual Taker reversal that would lead to the win, but it never came. Took guts for them to end it, but I'm glad they did.

Brock ending the streak was great because I truly didn't expect it. I'm 31 years old and at this point it takes a lot to shock me these days as a fan.
Last night I was legitimately shocked for the first time in years. Kudos to WWE, Taker and Brock for that.

It was a good match. Tthe problem was it wasn't a great match. And definately not the match or the opponent Taker should have gone out on.
It goes further than that though. I hate what this match represented. The so called Reality Era has really caught up with us now. The last true pro wrestling character vs the guy who identifies himself as too real for wrestling and reality won out. What now? What does that mean for the future?

So I just finished watching Wrestlemania a little recap of the Undertaker match from my perspective:
- "Oh it´s time for the Streak boring as always" - I proceeded to watch uninterested and was pretty much bored. - F5 1...2...3.........
Wrestling, Entertainment or anything releated...this was the greatest shock of my life.
I always wanted the streak to end, but I never thought it would. Then it happened. I still haven´t said a single word because I am STILL speechless. In my opinion, this was the biggest Wrestlemania moment in history.

Yep, this is my feeling as well, same age group, and I cannot recall the last time I was this SHOCKED outside of a real life occurrence (i.e. a death) in wrestling. It may have no equal outside of Vince buying WCW. This will be #1 on most "Most Shocking WWE Moments" lists for the foreseeable future.

The last true pro wrestling character vs the guy who identifies himself as too real for wrestling and reality won out. What now? What does that mean for the future? That. And the paradox is, as strong and shocking a symbol as the Taker/Brock was, the title match ended up with Bryan no-selling beatdowns & matches & spots & injury that would have kept Taker down, to celebrate as if nothing happened after his match. As far removed from #Reality as possible.

I'm curious with the health of UT. Let's say that he is fine to wrestle some 3 or 4 wrestlemanias (only that match and in a super toned down way) they could still make a storyline where "If I lose I retire" For example, if they make an sting vs ut match career vs career, it will really mean something, or you can had some other guys to add unpredictibility to the match
Maybe this was the last match of taker, but if wasn't, there is still tons of money to make, and stars to grow

Best result for me. I am a self professed ultra mark for Lesnar and I hate the stupid streak crap with a vengeance. How can it be that year after year the Undertaker gets beat by people at other PPVs but somehow he becomes super mega powerful at WrestleMania? The streak is over and I couldn't be happier that Lesnar was the one to do it.

Interesting article from Forbes of all places... www.forbes.com/sites/chrissmith/2014/04/07/gamblers-knew-the-undertaker-would-lose-at-wrestlemania-30/WrestleMania is a huge event, providing excitement for fans and a huge boost for the local economy. And for some gamblers, WWE’s biggest event of the year is also a chance to get rich.
Online sportsbook Bovada was taking bets on the night’s matches, and there was apparently plenty of action because the money lines were moving throughout the week. That’s not to say gambling on pro wrestling is a good idea. In fact, it seems pretty foolish to bet on matches that have scripted endings, especially because someone had to write that script.
I’ve previously heard that wrestling-related betting lines have a tendency to swing hard right before the matches begin because that’s when people within the promotion, who know the planned outcome of each match, would make their bets. I don’t have any hard evidence of that happening Sunday night, but I do know that at least some gamblers predicted one of the most surprising outcomes in recent memory, and today they’re laughing their way to the bank.
Many fans – myself included – thought that the closest thing to a sure bet would be Undertaker defeating Brock Lesnar and extending his WrestleMania winning streak to 22-0. Most gamblers appeared to agree with the sentiment.
Undertaker opened at -3000; in other words, you’d need to bet $3,000 just to win $100 on an Undertaker victory. That line later moved to -4000, and by Saturday afternoon was at -5000. Clearly nobody was expecting a loss to Lesnar, and Bovada wasn’t making it easy for bettors to win money off the “sure thing.”
But by 6:15 Sunday night? The Undertaker money line had surged the other way to -1200. The only explanation is that Bovada had a whole lot of action going Lesnar’s way. The line would float back to -3000 by 6:30, then down again to -2500 at 6:50.
There was little outside indication that this would be the year that Undertaker lost. There was a ton of hype surrounding last year’s match against CM Punk, who at the time was one of WWE’s biggest stars, and even that ended with an Undertaker win. Lesnar is something of a journeyman who shows up and disappears throughout the year, and not quite the expected choice to end a streak more than two decades in the making.
And yet some gamblers clearly knew this was the year. There’s no way to know for sure if they had inside information, but it’s yet another piece of evidence why betting on an event with a predetermined outcome is not the smartest use of money.Thats certainly interesting.

If the odds were changing that close to the show, word must have gotten out to a lot of people in the company.

This presumably rules him out of Raw tonight, or at least, anything physical for the evening.

I'm not an expert on concussions but surely bright lights and flashing bulbs can't be good for someone with a severe type of concussion?

The concussion would explain some of how the match went/why he looked so frail.

f*** it. So disappointed that a pretty slow and boring match ended like that. But the sheer insanity and shock value of it kind of saved it. The reactions in the crowd just sold how insane the moment actually was. The streak is over. f***.
