The concussion may have had something -- a lot in fact -- with the match not being a barnburner. Also, Father Time remains undefeated.
I was there and it was like this for me:
1-2-3
Silence.
I think everyone in that building had the exact same thought at the exact same time ... did he just really count three?
The silence lingered and my jaw was dropped and my buddy next to me turned and his jaw was dropped.
Then they put 21-1 on the big screen and that was the first moment where my brain registered that it really, for sure, actually happened.

Well, that helps to explain the poor match.

"Hey, we know this guy is coming off a massive head injury and probably feels like shit, let's yell stuff at the top of our lungs at him!" I know it wasn't everyone there but that was the one thing I took from that video.

Even as someone who lives there, that's one of the most Scottish accents I've ever heard.

Now that I've had some time to reflect on it, I'm really glad they did this. Brock's victory instantly makes Brock more interesting and Undertaker far more compelling going forward.
The first thing I did when I got up this morning is re-watched the match on phone during my drive to work (God bless the WWE Network). I had to see that shocking end again. That shot of Taker laying in the ring with the 21-1 graphic graphic above him was surreal.

To me, the Streak ending is like a superhero getting killed in a movie. It's not supposed to happen.
Taker looked in rough shape, though.

For those saying the Streak is not a big deal... you're kidding, right? You're waiting to crack up and tell us the punchline, surely.
It has been the premise of many of the biggest matches in 'Mania history, and the one that ended Shawn Michaels' career.
I get it if you think there are bigger moments. I even will grant you a handful, but if you don't think this is one of the biggest things that has happened in wrestling, WWE in particular, you were watching another show. You didn't see a crowd reacting like a tourbus just backed over Bambi's mom on live broadcast. You have been completely out of the loop. You just aren't in touch with wrestling anymore if you don't think this mattered.

So we started caring about it at 8-0 then? In other words according to "no one giving a toss about it until 2001" it's been part of WWE lore for 13 years straight. You're right. No one should care about something that's been celebrated for almost a DECADE AND A HALF. People that have been following this guy since the early 90's...nah shouldn't be a big deal to see this end. Cause no one cared until 2001....what was I thinking.

Not the most compelling argument against it, to be honest. It's a streak, that doesn't really mean anything until it's got some momentum behind it. Hogan's years long reign mattered more after the first year and beyond than it did 3 weeks in. Does that mean it's not a big deal, either?

While the match was going on, part of me really felt I was watching Taker's last match. I was still shocked by the finish of course, but just seeing the way Taker was taking those F5's...damn. Not how a guy with two hip replacements should be landing on his hips.

I'm sure somebody's already said this but....Austin didnt give the rub to a younger guy in his career-ending match either. That's a pretty common trend. Austin jobbed to Rock, Michaels jobbed to Taker, Flair jobbed to Michaels, Hogan (if you count his TNA run as his final match) jobbed to Sting, Taker jobbed to Lesnar, etc. The "give a young guy the rub on the way out" stuff hasn't applied to anyone recently. Jericho and Foley job to anyone with a pulse, so their jobs mean nothing, but the guys who actually went out protecting themselves usually lost to big established stars. If Cena were to announce his retirement, his last match would probably be with Orton.
