When you think about it...it still better then the TNA television title...which haven't been defended in almost a year.

Why hasn't Zeb been trying to commandeer the US Title for America? Been wondering the same thing. It'd look good with Swagger, give them a talking point, and have something to fight over with Cesaro or whatever foreigner they are harassing. I always said that Swagger would be great as US champ, but then they gave him the title in early 2012, and he had a two month long reign where he defended the title about as often as Ambrose does now.

Why bother with retiring one title just to replace it with another? Just add the stipulation to the US title. The only downside I can see is that if the title were to be defended weekly, it would almost certainly be hot potatoed around, further devaluing it. I'd rather have a guy hold onto a belt for months at a time than see four or five title changes over the same period. The US Title is meant to be on the same level in kayfabe as the IC Title. While I would love one of those low level guys to win gold, I don't like the idea of the US Title being officially the low card title. It would reek too much of Vince's WWE > WCW mongering. Fans might take it the wrong way and it wouldn't be fair to those guys to have their big moment to shine to be tainted by a possible backlash. I'd rather they make a new belt or bring back an actual low card title like the European Title. The ECW title started on the same level as the WHC, and eventually became a midcard title. The WHC started as equal to the WWE title, and eventually became an upper-midcard title. In both cases the commentators continued to put them over as important as the ever were, and that's what will likely happen to the US title. I see no point in being so transparent as creating a belt specifically for the lower card when the US title is perfectly serviceable.

Hasn't it been pretty much run of the course since Ryder's reign? Santino, Cesaro and now Ambrose all have had prolonged reigns of relatively little note, with the odd intermediary such as Swagger and Kofi.

Hey, you got a match Tues. Friday, though it seem an obvious DQ so don't rush.
