I was happy he was on the Avs. Then again I would be. Kind of crazy to think the Avs had Bourque, Blake, and Foote on their team. 3 of the all time greats played on that team in the span of a few years. And yes, Footer is an all time great. Then in the same year NJ had Niedermayer, Stevens, and Rafalski (one of the most underrated offensive defensemen ever) on the same team I loved Rafalski when he was on New Jersey. He played a big role on the 2010 USA Olympic team, too. Granted he was a Red Wing by then, but that didn't affect my love of him as a player. That was a good time to be a Devils fan. Langenbrunner was captain of the team and Parise and Rafalski were the alternates.

*cough* Doughty, Muzzin, A-Mart, Mitchell*cough* cough* Doughty is a superstar and one of the best of the league. The rest of the guys are incredible role players, but not super star level. And they don't have to be, that is what made them work so damned well. I'm not comparing them to past greats. I'd argue that this top four matches up with St. Louis' and Chicago's top four.

I would say they are better than either top to bottom, they don't have the drop off from top 2 down that Chi does.

That was an exciting and relatively young team. If it wasn't for f***ing Colorado, we could have at least gone to the Stanley Cup Finals against the Devils(The Blues were beatable that year). Would we have beaten them?Probably not, but on the other hand, we pushed the Avs to 7 games, so who knows. What I do know is that I miss those first two lines: Robitaille-Stumpel-Palffy Murray-Smolinksi-Deadmarsh

And I fully agree, but it wasn't the conversation we were having at the time and you just kind of stuck in there with out adding that it was an offshoot of what we were talking about.

I still think St. Louis has the best D and will have the best D for years to come considering its a surprisingly young D Corp.

That string of Drury, Hejduk, and Tanguay was freaking insane. And Forsberg and Deadmarsh before it was bonkers.

Anybody hear about the latest promotion by the Arizona Sundogs?
Their owner got buried in a dumpster with the hopes of selling 300 tickets in a week.
They only have sold 50, and it's been six days.

The Avs players who won, won decisively. Roy is coach of the year O'Reilly took the Lady Bing MacKinnon is rookie of the year
The only award an Av was a finalist for and didn't take was the Vezina, and that was one of the closest votes out there.
Time to don my Landeskog jersey and do a happy dance.. actually, I do that daily.

Jagr didn't win the Masterton trophy, but I guess it's hard to beat a guy who came back to play after his wife died and was 3 wins shy of something from a movie.

Now that's a steal and doesn't scream out buyout like Callahans deal with Tampa

Now that's a steal and doesn't scream out buyout like Callahans deal with Tampa Do we not remember how often Gaborik gets hurt. For the Kings its not terrible since they have the depth that they can take a chance but 7 years is a lot for Gaborik
