Now that's a steal and doesn't scream out buyout like Callahans deal with Tampa Do we not remember how often Gaborik gets hurt. For the Kings its not terrible since they have the depth that they can take a chance but 7 years is a lot for Gaborik The cap does increase every year and he plays with the biggest roughest team in the league. He has a lot of padding to get through. Plus he's a bargain compared to many other players you won't believe who make 5 million or more. Like he's only making 400K more then newest Oiler Nitkin

Also, while the injuries are a concern, Gabby looked the healthiest he's been in about two years with us. Our medical staff is amazing. They turned Justin Williams, who was also considered injury-prone, into a guy who's played every regular season game and playoff game for the past 3 years. Ah, I can't wait to see a whole season of Kopi and Gabby working together. Should be awesome.

Dave Bolland is asking for a 7 or 8 year deal and $5 million per year. Even the Leafs can't be that stupid to give him that.

Unless the guy is a bonafide superstar I doubt the Leafs will ever want to get David Clarkson'd again. How the hell isn't he bought out yet

Well, it seems that the Kings are projected to take Claude's son, Brendan. If young Brendan is anything like his dad, he'll fit in with us like a goddamn glove. Not only that, but he'd be able to bolster that 3rd/4th center position once Jarret Stoll walks away or retires.

I'd like Josh Ho-Sung. He's got "attitude" issues but damn if he doesn't have talent. I swear hockey culture where everyone has to shut up and be humble is annoying at times. Then don't complain when we only get stock answers after games. From what I read it seemed like he was just confident. Nothing wrong with that if you back it up and work hard

Nothing wrong with that if you back it up and work hard It seems to me like hockey players have a lot of personality off the ice, which is really cool. I think they just like being boring and generic because of the on-ice hockey culture and the fact that they don't want to say anything that may be used against them either in the media or by other players. I don't know, I don't mind that hockey players are a little boring.

Ekblad or Leon. If both are gone then trade the pick for a top 2 NHL defenseman or a legit number one or two center the bigger the better. I don't want another small skilled forward that gets pushed around and can't produce because he's on the smallest softest team in the league.
Edmonton should try find a way to trade their pick and Gagner for the number one pick. Because Gagner is f***ing done in Edmonton and may have a resurgence in another team just like many other former modern day Oilers.

Unless Gagner is being packaged with Yak and the second pick, there's no way in hell Sam Gagner warrants a first overall pick. Also, Florida really needs a D-man to be paired with Kulikov and Ekblad is just what the doctor ordered. On the other hand, they're absolute garbage offensively and their forwards can't play a lick of D. This might mean they might shock the world and perhaps take a Reinhart or Bennett 1st overall. It'll be very interesting to see what the Panthers do tonight. Also, in case you didn't know, Kesler's gone to Anaheim with a 3rd for next year in exchange for Bonino, Sbisa, and this year's 24th pick. Getzlaf, Perry, and Kesler on the _Ucks? I now officially call a Fatwa on them. Ugh, as if I couldn't stand those douchebags enough already, they go out and get Kesler. Unbelievable.

Josh Ho-Sang or Brendan Lemieux are two I hope are around by the time the Devils get to their pick. I see the Kings getting one and the Devils getting the other.
If Lou picks another defenseman I lose what little faith I have left in him.

Probably won't happen because Tallon is their GM but in a pre Tallon era possibly. Defensemen picked really early never pan out to expectations except for Pronger and Doughty that's just two in 20 years. But shit Ekblad is a pretty good offensive defensemen what I hear and is already 6'4 and 215lbs. Defensemen that young are rarely ever that big and built and have a beard.

Lemieux has been pretty forward about wanting to play for the Avs, and if he is like his dad, he is one of the two things the Avs need.

Well Edmonton didn't get Ekblad but I'm glad Draisaitl was available and they drafted him. Finally a big forward and a center who will continue growing. Welcome to the Oilers Draisaitl.

Wins multiple Cups with Kings. Me gusta.

So the rumor out there is that the Preds traded Patrik Hornqvist and some pivks for James Neal. Wow. Good trade for both teams if true.

It still blows my mind Hornqvist was the very last pick in one of the biggest NHL drafts ever. But that he a good trade and Nashville is shaping up nicely

So that trade just got confirmed. Wow. Like I said, good trade for both. Nashvillr gets a scorer, which they need desperately. The Pens get a real good defensive forward that has a scoring touch and can keep up with Sid and Gino. Also, Nick Spaling is a decent bottom 6 guy who's getting better. Good trade for both teams.
Also, everybody out West better get ready to hate the Preds a bit more noe that they have Neal.
