Rangers needed to take advantage of a weak Oilers team and did so. 2-0 win and Hanks 5th shutout of the season. They played tonight without Derick Brassard because of, you guessed it, mumps.

I have lost count now. I think this means Oilers lost 14 out of their last 15 games now and none of these losses were a result from the shootout. Nothing being done because we're "visually better" then some of the teams we plaued against rigjt Craig MacTavish?

Good Riddance. Eakins was on pace to become the worst head coach of all time if he continued coaching this season. I'm not sure how I feel about MacTavish becoming the coach because on one hand the players may play with some intensity knowing your coach can trade you at any time and he is now at the frontlines to see the shit show team he assembled and MacTavish was a hard coach. On the other hand it's f***ing MacTavish and he'll continue to ignore the problems, not admit his mistakes, wasn't that good of a coach, and continue doing forcing the square peg and round hole coaching method he did in the past.
But one down two to go

Oh dear God. The Oilers rehired Kelly Buchberger to become the head coach or OKC Barons. Buchberger was the Dallas Eakins of the AHL and he's getting another shot. I really f***ing hate this team. I like Todd Nelson and even though he's familiar with most of the Oilers and I thought he should of been the head coach rather then Eakins, the last thing we need is another in house hire and rookie headcoach. Like f*** it they should of just offered Torts, Bylsma, and maybe MacLean the richest coaching contract ever to coach the team. All three of those coaches were practically fired for being hard asses to their players but f*** it the Oilers need some f***ing heart. I also don't want to see Todd Nelsons coaching career to die by the Oilers and wished to see him succeed in another franchise  |

And in typical Oilers fashion one step forwards and two steps backwards. According to Dreger, Hall is on the trading block and more changes are coming to Edmonton and none of it involves management

I actually like Eakins, but he was in a no-win situation(figuratively and literally) in Edmonton. Scotty Bowman couldn't get those boys right. It's ineptness from top to bottom and no one is willing to change it. |
