Speaking of cuts: Anyone see what happened to Michael Del Zotto? Look it up at your own risk.

The Leafs fired Randy Carlyle. Maple Leafs fans rejoice everywhere. It wont make a lick of difference though; they're still the Leafs.

I dreaded this day would come. Because of course this will be the only story TSN will talk about until trade deadline and how when will Mike Babcock become the next Leafs coach? Because seriously f*** TSN and Sportsnet always hyping up every big name as a possible Leafs member since the dawn of time even though they have been wrong 99.99% of the time.

I remember once when Heatley requested a trade request in Ottawa, all they talked about was how Heatley wants to play with the Leafs and when they found out he didn't include the Leafs in his No Move Clause contract, they were still saying it was a ruse that he didn't want to bring up a media frenzy in Toronto and then they were talking about how The Maple Leafs are going to be cup contenders with Heatley playing for them. THIS ACTUALLY f***ING HAPPENED! The fact they are talking about how Babcock is their next head coach already is quite sad considering you know he's still employed by the Red Wings.

Why would Babcock leave a great team like the Red Wings for a mediocre at best one like the Leafs?

Why would Babcock leave a great team like the Red Wings for a mediocre at best one like the Leafs? They've been hyping up Babcock to the Leafs since the off season. Their basing it on that Babcock wants to be the highest paid coach of all time after this season and Toronto is willing to pay him bunch of money so of course he's Maple Leaf Bound despite the fact that more then half of the teams in the league would fire their coach for Babcock. Basically every big name free agent, trade deadline target, big name player who wants to be traded, etc has been linked to Toronto by TSN/Sportsnet with a %0.01 percent accuracy result. The amount of dick riding coverage/discussion Toronto gets from the Canadian Hockey Media is insanely absurd. When they fired Burke, I swear any casual or non hockey fan would of thought Brian Burke was a former NHL Commissioner who recently passed away because of all the coverage and solemn deep graved voices were spoken.

BWHAHAHAHAHAHAHA SOMEONE PAID MONEY FOR THIS (Probably Kevin Lowe himself) Hmm... lemme run this through the bullshit detector and have the "actual" comment that this person wanted to say: So it has come to this: people wasting money to air their grievences against a poorly-run operation, on Christmas of all times! This head hunting is nothing more than to besmirch the good name of Kevin Lowe, and for this, I am insulted.
The legacy of Kevin Lowe far outweighs his obvious incompetence, and for that, we must be eternally grateful for his presence. And while he isn't the most popular man in Canada, he is beloved by some.
Let's face it; losing is supposed to be a part of life. And as part of a team who needs people other than Mr. Lowe to go, we must realize that Edmonton is one of the least-revelvant markets in our league. As a result, we must all accept this reality that we would not have even been accepted into this league, hadn't it been for a shortsighted fleecer who screwed over the fans of a midwestern city who sold their star player to the man whose father is named "XXXX XXXXXXXX" just so he could keep the Racers alive for 10 days. If you do not like this, I would rather you turn your attention to a marquee franchise who actually will be discussed more often.
Now, we must turn our attention to the one and the only Kevin Lowe, who is concerned that the feelings of Craig MacTavish might be hurt.
Yes, Mr. Katz controls the pursestrings, but we're not gonna bother listening to our actual fans as long as we keep luring the uninitiated into the Rexall Place.
Sincerely yours,
Mr. Kevin Lowe
Um... yeah.

Um... yeah. -They fired Eakins 10 days before Christmas. -Universally respected my ass. Brian Burke wanted to fist fight him for real, Jay Feaster recently tweeted mocking the Oilers, Ron Hextall shaded the Oilers in his first press conference as the new GM saying we're not going to do an Oilers rebuild and create a losing culture, or Lombardi and LA Kings nearly suing Edmonton for hiding Colin Frasers broken foot injury when they traded him. -Edmonton is the 2nd fastest growing city in North America right now and the Oilers is ranked #12 of most valuable NHL Franchises by Forbes and with the new arena built it'll continue to get higher Want to see something funny on how big of an egomaniac Lowe is? This is Kevin Lowe's profile in the Oilers website oilers.nhl.com/club/page.htm?id=33071Every business operation, management, coach including Craig MacTavish has a standard 5-8 paragraph profile. Kevin Lowe's profile has 15 paragraphs, career highlights, charitable contributions, separate season highlights, separate playoff seasons highlights, reminding you how he was acquired as the first ever Oilers draft pick and has the first ever goal in franchise history twice, career statistics, his career statistics against every NHL team he played against, his personal records, his franchise records, etc. Like look at this sample: Seriously it's the most unintentional hilarious, megalomaniac, insecure things I have ever seen!

Rangers beat the Ducks 4-1 to start their California swing. Also now have 11 wins in their last 12 games.
