Toronto is going to host the All Star Game and possibly a Winter Classic for their Centennial Season at 2017. If that's true it's going to feel weird a non Bettman Seven team hosting a Winter Classic. Even weirder that this would be Toronto's Second Straight Season. Montreal should of hosted one during their Centennial Season.
Edit: If Toronto hosts it I hope it's against Ottawa. It'll probably never happen. But it would also be the Senators 25th anniversary.

So the World Cup of Hockey is official. It'll take place in Toronto in 2016 and will consist of 8 teams: Canada, United States, Russia, Sweden, Finland, the Czech Republic, Team Europe (which consists of players from countries not listed), and a North American youth team consisting of players from the US and Canada who are 23 or younger.

I like the olympics better already. I like seeing places like Belarus getting a bronze in 2002 or Switzerland always trolling Canada or Latvia nearly pulling the ultimate upset

Well, last night didn't suck altogether for me. The Fuel beat Evansville for their sixth straight victory.
Hey... we might make the Kelly Cup Playoffs after all.

The LA Kings have put Mike Richards on waivers. Sucks, but had to be done. He's been garbage since last season outside of the playoffs. He showed some signs this year, but he's been a determent to the team since at least November. It sucks that concussions and his style have play have seemingly eroded all of his skill and all before the age of 30.

Does that count against the King's cap this season or upcoming seasons? Man I remember when he was first brought in their was rumours of him becoming the new captain if they traded Dustin Brown. Also why is Dustin Brown garbage in the regular season these past two seasons?

Also why is Dustin Brown garbage in the regular season these past two seasons? It still counts against our cap, but $925K is exempt. Brownie plays a similar style; so he's not what he was even 2 seasons ago. That said, his skating has improved a lot this year and some of his offensive woes are bad luck too.

Teemu Selänne's son, Eetu, has been selected for the Finland under 18 team for a couple of matches during the first week of February. Talk about having big shoes to fill.

Just when you think it's over, think again. Jaromir Jagr has the mumps.

Martin Brodeur has officially retired and will be joining the front office of the Blues. I wish he never played for the Blues. It seems like nobody spends their entire 15+ season career with the same team anymore of any league. Like I guess there is Tom Brady and Elias but that's about it currently I can think off. But good for Brodeur retiring before further embarassing himself

Does that change anything about all the Vezinas, wins records or Cups he won with the Deivls? No. He still gave his best years to this team even for undermarket value what difference does it make that he had a failed run with another team at the twilight?

He only played seven games with the Blues. I guess he needed confirmation that it was time to hang them up.
It's a shame he couldn't officially retire with the Devils, but he'll always be a legendary figure here in NJ. I imagine his number will be hanging in the Rock's rafters fairly soon. Up there with Daneyko, Stevens, and Nieds.

The Rangers just can't figure out the Islanders this year =/ Well for this Isles fan that's good news. Long term loss of Okposo is really going to hurt though. Should be enough depth to get them through, even if it means losing the division lead.

12 straight losses for the Sabres.
If they don't beat Team SuperSweet tomorrow, they could break the NHL record for longest losing streak (17 straight).
After the Oilers, next 5 games- Canucks, Habs, Blues, Stars, Islanders.

I was so pissed the Sharks lost the Oilers when the Oilers were on a 11 game losing streak earlier this season because then the Oilers lost 9 more games in a row after that win. The Oilers could of broke a NHL record of losing 21 games in a row and Lowe or MacTavish may have been fired. Seriously that would of meant 25% of the whole season was nothing but a losing streak. Oh and only one of those losses were the result of a shoot out. During a game where the Oilers had a 5-1 lead in the third period.
