Bumping this thread for a picture I found. I have to say, I kinda like seeing the "red jacket" movie uniforms in original Trek colors: Is that shopped or was that the original look planned. If so, I like that better.

The only thing I didn't like about the red TOS Movie uniforms is that were were way too many colors for different branches. And it's a very odd aberration because TNG and on went back to to the three primary colors for the different branches, though red became command and gold became operations (whereas it was vice versa for TOS and Enterprise) So I always thought that was inconsistent with the rest of the Starfleet uniform styles (I would've made command gold, make operations red and science the purple-ish blue Uhura and Chekov had, and kept the white turtleneck for Admiralty as I always thought Kirk looked snazzy with the white turtleneck). Otherwise, I think it looks the most "military" like outside of the Enterprise-era Admiral uniforms, which I can appreciate. I still stick by my original answer from last year. TNG/later season DS9 uniforms and the Reboot ones ftw. Though speaking of Zapp Brannigan, he would've felt right at home in the Men's Skant which appeared in maybe two episodes of TNG Season 1.

*thought of a sexual joke involving 7 of 9, Goes with serious answer instead* Honestly the reboot ones look comfy and a tad more practical than the others *besides the jumpsuits from Enterprise* meaning they could have pockets.....

The red uniforms from TNG if it means I'm as badass as Riker and Picard.

Not the red one, ANYTHING but the red one! Well that depends on which version of Trek... TOS yeah... you're probably going to die unless you are Scotty... TNG+ they have a better life expectancy

Those 29th century uniforms they wore on the USS Relativity were pretty cool.

Can I choose to wear the Enterprise jumpsuits for day-to-day work on a ship but the red Navy overcoat look from the TOS era films for formal functions?
