Jason's three variations are Slasher (More machete attacks), Relentless (Teleports and command grabs) and Unstoppable (Health regen and second wind after a K.O)/

After watching the videos of him now he is out, he looks a very cool character to include.
Like the music tones and his brutalities are sweet.

Thing with Jason is he's fun to play as but I wouldn't dare take him online. He's slow as hell, he has terrible mix-ups outside the Slasher variation, which is insanely unsafe, and he has few ways of breaking pressure from an opponent if they stay right on top of him. Any player who knows what they're doing would wipe the floor with him.
I already did a living tower as him. Cassie was the final fight which seems so fitting since she seems to fit the archetype of a "final girl" in a Friday the 13th movie. So she got the Sleeping Bag Killer fatality.

I did the traditional tower with Jason, but when I beat Shinnok, it went to a blank screen rather than his ending video, and had to restart the game. Anyone else have similar problems? Seemed like everything installed correctly, but...

I dunno, I know what I'm doing and I still lost to a Jason online. I'm sure I'll do better once I've learned the matchup.

Jason's so fun. Love activating his armour move and fearlessly walking up to people while they desperately mash.

To get back to the Story Mode for a moment (and since its been weeks I'm not spoiling what happens, so people who haven't gotten this yet, you've been warned), who do you y'all think will the main villain in MK 11? Will it really be Raiden as that stinger implied, or could it actually end up being Liu Kang like I originally thought for this one?

I'm thinking that some of the arcade endings hinting at Shang Tsung's return could play in somehow. Maybe a three or four way war between Earthrealm, Netherealm, Outworld and Tsung's forces.

He wasn't really shown to be evil, more like "I'm tired of shit happening to my realm" good. If anything, I'd bet that it's some form of Onaga where someone other than Reptile ends up being the host. I mean, we can't have Deadly Alliance since both members are dead (as well as everyone they killed, incidentally), and we're still sorta following the same timeline with different events, so it's gotta be Onaga.

I could see MK 11 being a tournament held for Liu Kang and the Netherrealm to invade Earthrealm, as Raiden goes more and more insane and threatens the existence of all the realms, leading to Earthrealm and Outworld forming an unholy alliance with the one person crafty enough to help defeat them both...the resurrected Shang Tsung.

If anyone is interested someone on the gamefaqs board discovered an exploit that gets you the skins from the app without having to play the app itself. If you go into the Ranked Player vs Player leaderboards and download the Kombat History of someone who has the skins, when you back out the the main menu the skins will unlock. I can confirm this works, I got Klassic Kitana, Farmer Jax and Injustice Scorpion this way. This trick works for PS4, Xbox One and PC. I'll post the topic so you can find a user on your console and region easier. www.gamefaqs.com/boards/802908-mortal-kombat-x/71769364

I'm assuming that Netherrealm made that face for him because it would be easier for X-Ray moves. ...or is that close to Reboot Jason's face...don't know if his fae was shown in that one.

Anyway, I was gonna say, Liu Kang, Johnny Cage and Scorpion have been my mains since MK1 but I was thinking of branching out and learning some of the new characters. Erron Black and D'Vorah look fun to play. Any tips? Best variation?

Erron Black is my main, so I can give you a good idea of where to start.
Erron Black is one of the few characters that I've found in which best main specials and pressure-based combos are pretty much left intact across all of his variations. His variations only enhance different portions of his fighting style rather than enhance some at the expense of others.
I'll start off with his universal specials. Sand Slide is a quick low special, similar to Sub-Zero's slide which can be enhanced for more damage. Sand Grenade is a slow low projectile which reaches fullscreen, which when enhanced loses range but also launches on hit. Sand Tackle is a special that is a high-damage command grab special which is a great juggle combo ender and helps to carry your opponent into the corner. Lastly, Erron has caltrops, which serve as a dual purpose. This move deals damage over time when your opponent is standing on them and also is used to give you some breathing room since they stop your opponent from running over them. They're also very effective in the corner since you can pressure your opp[onent with blockstrings while they simultaneously take unblockable damage from the caltrops.
I personally use his Outlaw variation. In this one, it gives his Sand Gust special an upgrade and gives it more range, and he gains a Tarkatan Blade which gives him access to his best Neutral Jump Punch and his best poke combo in F2, 2, 2. This variation is best for pressure and midscreen combos, as well as for those who like moves that do damage over time (his Tarkatan Stab special). He's also pretty nasty in the corner. This variation suffers when it comes to zoning, though.
Next is Marksman. In this one, he gets a Long Rifle and gains zoning tools with Unload and Low Shot. He also gets a launcher move. I've found that he gets the highest damage out of this variation. Players have also been experimenting quite a bit as of late with cancelling his Low Shot in order to extend combos, so this is the variation which I believe has the most potential for growth.
Last is Gunslinger. In this one, he gains Standoff Stance, which allows for mixup options, a zoning tool, and a decent antiair, and Money Shot, which allows you to zone your opponent from various ranges, although its probably his worst special.
So basically, it comes down to what your playstyle is.

A lot of the endings seemed to hint at Shang playing a role going forward. Good; while Shao Kahn was always the biggest badass villain, I've always loved Shang Tsung's style. Deadly Alliance gave him a chance to be the Big Bad again, but it was obviously only for a brief moment; I'd love for the reboot to give him a chance to shine as the greatest schemer of them all.

If Deadly Alliance doesn't happen and we go straight into Deception, I could see Shang Tsung being second-in-command to Onaga or whoever. I kinda doubt he'll be the final boss as long as it takes 4+ years for a new MK game to come out.
