The only thing I can say about this is that at least Heath is still employed.

I will never understand why wrestlers do not say no to stupid gimmicks. Granted not everyone is going to be booked as a main eventer, but if I were a wrestler, the first thing I would do was nix any idea that involved dancing or comedy. Those rarely ever work (Rikishi is the only one I can think of, and even he was a fat guy in a sumo thong), and once they no longer work for the WWE, that gimmick will pigeonhole their future work. I wish wrestling was formatted differently to give the individual more power over characters, for their own sake. Unfortunately anybody who says no isn't likely to enamor themselves with creative. They're kind of trapped in that sense: either turn down a goofy gimmick and end up off of television for being rebellious or hard to deal with or go with it and as you said, end up being pigeonholed with little room for growth. In that sense they're kind of stuck. Exactly. Matt Hardy was actually on a bit of a hot streak after joining the Smackdown roster coming off the feud with Edge. He got depushed because he was told to be part of the Smackdown roster members that protected Orton from UT. He told them it made absolutely no sense for him as a face to protect the heel from getting his comeupance and then actually ducked out of the ring with the rest of the faces when he was supposed to get chokeslammed alongside half a dozen jobber heels. Granted, I have no idea why someone wanted to put him amongst the jobber heels when he was, at the time, actually in the middle of a decent face push but that is sort of besides the point. If they were willing to punish someone that they actually had plans for (and sold a fair amount of merch at the time) for refusing to do something extremely stupid then why would they not punish someone that isn't being used for refusing a stupid request?

I'm still baffled over Drew and Jinder. Two years ago they could have gotten the axe and no on would notice, but instead they wait and cut them when they're featured comedy characters who are pretty over. Makes zero sense, and also really f***s over Heath Slater.
I understand the idea behind budget cuts, but there are guys on the roster who are paid far more and add no value to the product. Del Rio, for example. Doesn't draw a dime or illicit any reaction, paid likely Drew and Jinder's combined salary. Christian? Always injured. RVD? Paid handsomely to be lazy and job.

Aksana really hurts me. I hope TNA picks her up she's too hot to not be on TV.

Dunno why but something tells me we're in for at least one more before the week's over. Why do I have a forboding feeling that will be either Ryder or Ziggler And that's a bad thing? Free Zack and/or Dolph!

They are trying to reduce costs
Firing all the people in that list will save them at least $7038

11 cuts, 7 minorities, 2 foreigners. I hate to see how non diverse this company can be sometimes.

If I was McIntyre, I'd have asked for my release anyway.
He's a big enough name to make a good living on the indies and in Japan, and he wouldn't have to drag himself around American hotels losing to midgets.

I can't believe they broke up the greatest faction in to grace the screens of WWE before 9PM.

Why did they even bother turning Brodus Clay heel anyway? Wasn't he super over with the kids in the crowd as a dancing buffoon?

Do you mean he moves merch from arena to arena? No wonder he is bulking up.

Those other guys would also be selling merch if WWE had actually bothered to put out merch for them.

My advice to Jinder is to go to the UK, where they have a huge Asian population, especially in cities like London, Nottingham, Preston etc...
Adopt a Bollywood superstar gimmick. Base it on Shahrukh Khan.
A million times better than the shit WWE booked for him.

Only really sad about Curt Hawkins. Always liked the guy from his days on NXT.
Also liked Aksana... but only because of New Legacy Inc. I never saw her on WWE TV (I don't watch), but I love any time she appeared on a nL video.
And, honest to God, I'm shocked so many people are saddened at the "loss" of Jinder.
