As fun and interesting I find this show, more often than not I'm overrun with frustration. The majority of people on the panels, especially the ones from the old school, are the definition of "marks for themselves". They only want to talk about things they were involved in, but yet in the cases of JR and Hayes for example, still insist on making their point heard on topics they know less about than the person they interrupt.
Case in point - Bischoff talking about his intentions regarding the Monday night war was shouted down twice by Hayes who then tells Bischoff what Bischoff was actually thinking at the time and ends his point with the comedy gold of "...whether he (Bischoff) knew it or not".
And JJ Dillon is the most boring person in the world.

Foley is the worst on these shows. He has no stories that arent in his books and he just shoe horns them in totally changing the focus. And DDPs nonstop support of David Arquette and Karl Malone is obnoxious.

The one time I enjoyed Hayes interruption was when he interrupted Mick, who was listing things he was good at despite not being the best technical wrestler. After two or three things Hayes just blurts out "OK WE GET IT" and rolls his eyes.

I just started watching these here and there and the thing that surprised me was how may times they would bring up little backstage behaviors and attitudes. Like how making a stink about your character or tv time would get you noticed OR dismissed depending on the person you talked to and the day of the week!
If that's the case then I can see why a lot of superstars over the years just went with the flow, got paid and didn't make a fuss.

Wait old school wrestlers being marks for themselves on a panel show. Nahhhhh that'd never happen.
You get a bunch of type-A's on a show like that of course they are all going to be one-upping stepping all over each other. Still enjoyable to watch these if you can filter the bullshit. Problem is the moderator is supposed to control that nonsense but when they are one of the biggest marks it just makes it worse.

This show has some of the most remarkable quality variation I've ever seen. I read a review of a John Lennon solo best of once that said he 'swung wildly between genius and hackery' and that is a pretty good description for this show as well.
You see so many guys make asses of themselves, including Foley, who is my favourite wrestler so it pains me to admit that shit. JR is great as the chair, terrible as a panelist. Michael Hayes ruins EVERYTHING. And Ric Flair just says the stupidest shit (he calls the nWo the worst stable of all time, which is just f***ing stupid however bad the nWo got in the end).

I enjoy listening to Nick Bockwinkel, I wish he would have appeared in more episodes.

I enjoy listening to Nick Bockwinkel, I wish he would have appeared in more episodes. Bockwinkel's one of those guys who sounds pleasant and is approachable with his stories, so why they don't have guys like him around more often amazes me. I haven't actually watched a Legends of Wrestling, but I've always felt that Jim Ross was the homer to end all homers. Heck, he'd tout the awesomeness of the Federation when they did things long before he even arrived to WCW.

Legends of wrestling is my favorite thing on the network. The bad characters one is gold.

It's probably the show I've watched the most. The only episodes I don't care for are the ones with Ric Flair. It's been proven that he's just a lap dog for whoever is paying him.
Maybe I'm just not watching close enough, but I don't get the criticisms for Foley, JR & JJ Dillon. I've never watched an episode and had a problem with anything they said. Michael Hayes is a bit too hyper for my tastes but when he rains it in, he's very insightful.

I don't get the negativity towards anybody in mentioned in this thread. All of the panelist are opinionated and they often take a lot of pride in their respective contributions to the business.

Hayes can be good, but he's a little too much like the kid that wants everyone to pay attention to him.

Foley is the worst on these shows. He has no stories that arent in his books and he just shoe horns them in totally changing the focus. Every time I've heard him on these, it's always one of two things: watching Superfly jump off the cage and the UT/Mankind HIAC match. That's litteraly the only two things he seems to remember.

Stuff like that kinda makes me worry just how bad I Quit versus the Rock really was. Never watching that match again with what we know now, it's absolutely terrifying and makes me sick.

I still get annoyed that WWE pretend that the Oklahoma character was a WCW creation.
