Doug, was the best cartoon ever The Beets are the best band ever and dont even try to say they are not "Killer Tofu" and "Shout Your Lungs Out" are grand tracks. Oh-Ee-OOOOOO Killer Tofu! I wish that was still on. And Rocko wasn't gay. If I recall, he was in love with the unseen Melba. Yeah, but I have to Mom. And he's only 4.

city of new york vs. homer simpson still hasn't been shown in the u.k. since 9/11 to the best of my knowledge. Also, the episode where Homer get's that subliminal messages tape. The bit where Marge contemplates "hostage negotiatior" was cut until last year or so. I have actually seen the New York episode twice on televison (sky one) since 9/11. However, they were both quite recent and the episode hadn't been previously shown over here for a LONG time

I mean nothing is really that bad on the show. the spike tv episodes are a different story however.

I've seen both Simpsons episodes since the respective disasters. They have how many seasons' worth to re-run? (And why do I keep seeing the *&^%$# Prisoner-spoof episode?)
True. Though they're not edited - still the original John K. run - but I don't think the original Ren & Stimpy was really directed at the pre-school set, either.

Thats why I love my DVD'S

The Ren and stimpy episode that was banned by Nickelodeon was "Mans Best Friend" I'm sure its been shown on mtv in the US by now, its on the ren and stimpy dvd.
I'll upload it to you tube in a moment, it truely is the funniest Ren and Stimpy episode ever.

Irish TV stations have no sense of tact.

Here's something that's vaguely amusing. Cartoon Network actually limited, and at a time, banned, the rotation of Speedy Gonzales shorts on the channel due to Speedy's stereotypical appearance. However, fan campaigns, and even support from the League of United Latin American Citizens (Speedy's clever personality was said to be a positive outlook on the Latin people) broke CN, and the shorts were put back into rotation in 2002. And since I can't leave without an example, have one of my favorites, the first appearance of Slowpoke Rodriguez.

MTV2 has been showing Ren and Stimpy, and various other Nicktoons due to their affiliation with Nickelodeon, probably to advertise for that stupid Sic'emation. I dunno...that Sic'emation isn't looking too bad. Although looks like Celebrity Deathmatch got a major overhaul. The characters look really different and I think they've got some new people doing the voices. They don't sound quite the same either. But I was talking to a potential future Mad Johnny ex-wife last night and had MTV2 on...and they were showing GODDAMN SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS!! WHY?!??!?!?!!? Ugh! Ren and Stimpy were gay. Sort of. John K never really specified. I think he actually said, "when the situation called for it, yes they are gay." I think the whole "are they gay" question was answered...nay...SCREAMED INTO A BULLHORN INTO A MICROPHONE CONNTECTED TO 1000 PEAVY SPEAKERS CRANKED FULL BLAST during the Adult Party Cartoon days. The first one if I remember correctly. "I'M THE PEETCHER, YOU'RE THE CATCHER!" And sure enough, later on in the episode, there's Ren in a pitcher's uniform and there's Stimpy in the catcher's get up...complete with catcher's mitt attacked to his ass. Can't get anymore crystal clear than that.

I think it was a Droopy cartoon heavily edited where Butch the dog hypnotized a wolf and they went through all the stereotypical characters of the era (Al Jolson impersonations, Chinese stuff, etc.).
Recently I saw it and it was so edited it wasn't even worth airing.

I remember seeing all those cartoons growing up (the nazi ones excluded). I actually did a paper in college about the banned cartoons, I had a vhs of them I had gotten from my professor, but I don't know what happened to it, damn!
