Good to see you two survive DERAILED...I barely survived it the first time I watched it , lucky for you though out of the rest of his film outtings so far (not counting small cameo roles) IMO he only has 2 less than stellar outtings...but of course thats just me you guys may absoloutley hate the ones that I loved.
The only thing that could have said this crapfest was one man..The Rook.

LT's role seemed really unnecessary, but overall Van Damme definitely took some chances. That's what I'm finding out, now that I'm 20+ movies into his career is that he really made it a point to try and not do the same characters or same types of movies over and over again. Which is something I think a lot of people didn't realize. They just see him as the karate guy who does the splits.

Episode 22: IN HELLVan Damme goes to HELL. The hell of a Russian prison, that is. After being sentenced to prison for murdering his wife’s murderer, Van Damme gets caught up in a corrupt gulag’s fight ring. He fights not for pride or for honor, but to survive! He also teams with LT to take down the corruption from within! Really entertaining movie with great fight scenes and some light magical realism that ties it all together. We really liked this one and hope you do to! Lastly, our old friend “Jean Claude Van Damme” himself stops by to wish us a happy new year! Enjoy the podcast and be sure to share it with friends. Episode 23: WAKE OF DEATHI know Van Damme has had a lot more "misses" than "hits" lately, but this film was damn entertaining. As far as action films go, the plot wasn't very original, but the action, acting and pretty much everything else about it was really enjoyable. Enjoy the podcast and be sure to share it with friends. No doubt in my mind you would enjoy both In Hell and Wake Of Death.
Unfortunately the streak hits a snag with that next movie..I did not really enjoy it felt it took a step back into derailed territory , but like I have previously said he lucky only has 2 real misses in his next batch and Second In Command happens to be one of those two.

Oh that's such a bummer! Wake of Death was so good! Good to know there are only a couple of misses coming up though. Getting past the whole post-time cop/pre-In hell batch was rough!

Episode 24: 2nd in CommandThis one is officially the worst Van Damme film we’ve seen so far. By a wide margin. After one of the best – WAKE OF DEATH – it was really a bummer to watch Second in Command. We tried, but just couldn’t get through it, but we did listen to some of Van Damme’s official Instagram messages and some amazingly good JCVD commercials that he did for Coors Light. Enjoy the podcast and be sure to share it with friends. Also if you subscribe via iTunes, please help us out and leave us a review and rate our podcast 5 stars to help get the word out. Next week: The Hard Corps

You both have my sympathy for having to endure that , if there was a way to erase it before you got to it I would have...but my sorcery isn't quite up to par.
And sad to say The Hard Corps is not much better...it doesn't get to 2nd in command levels of absoloute wretch but the sooner it is over the better.
Good news after the next one you're pretty much home free there isn't another derailed or 2nd in command...so hopefully that eases your pain lol.

Oh no. Second in Command was soooo dull. Just not even bad enough to make fun of. I kinda want to skip Hard Corps and get to the good stuff!

BTW - here's the JCVD Coors commercial we were watching in this week's episode. Its some really funny stuff. Van Damme is the king of hilariously awesome commericals.

Episode 24: the Hard CorpsJean Claude Van Damme is leader of the Hard Corps. A movie that's not really about Jean Claude Van Damme or the Hard Crops. Its more about a boxer turned real estate mogul facing off against Canadian Suge Knight. We suffered through the good and the bad and the bad and the worse of it. Plus we get a visit from "Jean Claude" again to give us some insight into the magic behind Hard Corps. Enjoy the podcast and be sure to share it with friends. Next week: Until Death

Out of the fire and into the cocaine beaches we go.
I am repeating myself here but must be said nothing else from here on out can be considered bad in his filmography , some you both will love more than others but it is all enjoyable.
You get his best dramatic performances and IMO easily his funniest....oh and tie back to all the canadian talk lets just say it is gonna make a spectacular call back when you get to it....I promise there is no hidden sequel to Hard Corps...I heard you gasp in fear for a moment lol.

Watching Until Death for this week's podcast. Until Death is pretty enjoyable - I gotta say. The last bit gets a little dicey, but holds together. The pre-coma stuff is the best though. {Spoiler}

By the way, I'm catching up with the podcast and I've just listened to the Sudden Death episode. Has anybody told you about the backstory regarding the movie? You know, like who wrote it, funded it; the reasoning behind it?

Episode 26: the Until DeathVan Damme bounces back with the story of Antony Stowe, an unscrupulous cop, hooked on drugs and hell bent on taking down his ex-partner Callahan. Stowe gets put in a coma and comes out with a new outlook on life. Just like with Van Damme’s filmography after two films that were hard to get through. UNTIL DEATH is much easier to watch and the first 45mins are some of Van Damme’s best work. The last 45….well, it gets away from them a little, but doesn’t fall apart completely. Suffice to say, the mid-90s were an odd time for the league.
