um ok...... you are gay.
with out this sounding malevolent, can someone straight or gay or lesbian tell me the importance of announcing your personal life the public. I can understand letting your family and friends know. but strangers? i knowe one can make a point of this board building friendships.
but i never got the point of letting the public know a personal thing like that. but then again i was never big on excessive public displays of affection either.
can anyone answer this reasonably? or am i about to get some serious heat for asking this question?

I'll take a shot...he might be offended if you call someone a f@ggot or "ghey", so he wanted everyone to know.
I've always wanted to ask a gay wrestling fan a couple of questions...
1. I watch wrestling because of the physicality involved, storylines, etc, but I know a lot of people find it homoerotic. Do a lot of gay people feel that it's homoerotic as well?
2. Is Randy Orton really the most beloved wrestler by the gay community?
3. What do you think about Kanyon?

Well, I assume that most people who come out had been hiding who they were for quite some time. It is probably liberating to declare publically who you are.

An honest question. The thing is, it shouldn't be something that people have to explain. Then again, we don't live in a world where it's really accepted. While I am not a proponent of the "look at me" way of doing things, sometimes, it becomes the hairs and straws that may finally break the back of intolerance.

Is a good bit of it? Sure. Is it something that they watch it for? No, I'd think not. 3. I'll say this: If Kanyon is genuine, then more power to him. If he's just doing it for attention...well, already made my point on that one.

I personally don't find it important at all. I was just bored tonight and came out here at the board just for the hell of it. No heat from me for asking the question. You can respond with the dirtiest gay joke you can think of for all I care.

Homophobes get on my nerves, and being that I'm a Christian living in the Southern United States..I'm surrounded by them..( heck most people say I'm supossed to be one by default.)
It aint none of my business either way..and I believe 100% that a homosexual should be able to do anything a straight person does..

You may have a point. There are certainly various degrees of any sort of discrimination.

I dunno...I like Gay People. They seem nice. I don't hold any real malice toward them. Growing up in the Mid-West though...I love my Wisconsin, but in terms of being open and liberal, I don't think the people around me are really that understanding.

You may have a point. There are certainly various degrees of any sort of discrimination. but who or whom is discriminating In my personal opinion if a person thinks less of another person because they are gay than that's homophobia too. It may be a personal feeling, and thats their right to feel that way; but if they try in any way to use that belief to prohibit the civil rights of gay people than yeah..that's discrimination.
