Homophobes get on my nerves, and being that I'm a Christian living in the Southern United States..I'm surrounded by them..( heck most people say I'm supossed to be one by default.) It aint none of my business either way..and I believe 100% that a homosexual should be able to do anything a straight person does.. QFT

Hey, this thread has inspired me. I may as well come out and say I'm bi as well, since everyone's getting it out in the open.

can i say what i really think here..... ok, i don't really see why i need to like gay people. i have no friends who are like that. they can't help it i understand but they should keep it private and not act gay in public.
just my views, i don't hate them or anything but i don't like how i'm supposed to respect them and be in love with them simply because they made this choice of being different.
by the way i have a family member who is one of those types of people and he's had to go through a lot, i feel sorry for him. its a curse.

Nooone should try to force you to like or accept what you dont want to. Your personal belief about homosexuality is no more anyone elses business then a homosexuals sexuality is any of yours. If you were to use those beliefs in any way to try to influence the way homosexuals are treated..then it becomes a social issue and people have the right to protect themselves and their rights from it. But if its just a personal belief..I care no more about that than who someone sleeps with.

Man, they way I look at it is that it isn't any of my business to tell someone who to be attracted to. I could probably never be best friends with a gay person, but I respect their sexual preferences as their own. Hell, they might think I'm gross for dating women.. but again, it's no one else's decision and effects no one other than those involved, so I say do what feels right I guess.

No one asked you or anyone else to like, respect or "be in love" with a gay person anymore than you would be expected to instantly like, respect or "be in love" with anyone else. This is the type of thinking that I don't quite understand, much in the vein of people who think that just because someone is gay, they will instantly hit on them. Ain't that way. Tolerance is all that is requested, really, not respect.

I gotta say, I had a few gay friends, and they never hit on me. Then again, no one really ever hit on me usually anyways, so I was not surprised that they were not into me.

As a counselor about one-third of my work at one point was with sexual minorities, so I will just mention a few things:
--There is no such thing as a "gay lifestyle." Gay people live the posting-on-forums, watching-TV, hauling-ass-to-work lifestyle like everyone else.
--Telling gay people to "keep it private and not act gay in public" is asking them to pretend to be straight. It's pretty much the equivalent of telling black people to wear white makeup or Jews to wear crosses whenever they leave the house and just be black or Jewish in private.
--Why would you "feel sorry for" anyone who "makes the choice of being different"? Do you "choose" to like wrestling, or just discover that you do? Why would a discovery about something far more intensely personal than an attraction to a strange hobby like wrestling be MORE of a choice?

I certainly can't say I live any sort of gay lifestyle. I can't think of a single gay stereotype I that I fit into. The only real difference between me and straight people is the gender we're interested in and that's it. Though I do have a habit of lifting my pinkyfinger when I drink from a cup.

i'm a gay man in a women's body. but i have a gay friend, a bisexual friend, and a lesbian friend. and a friend with a boyfriend who has a hot friend. mmhmm, he does. So if a guy was attracted to you, would that make him gay? Semper Fi, Erik Majorwitz

I came out on this board as being bisexual a while ago. If anyone cares, pretty much everyone I'm close to knows. Without wanting to out anyone involuntarily, Andore and Andre28bc (and I think The Born-Again Dentist) came out as bi in the same thread. I've always wanted to ask a gay wrestling fan a couple of questions... 1. I watch wrestling because of the physicality involved, storylines, etc, but I know a lot of people find it homoerotic. Do a lot of gay people feel that it's homoerotic as well? 2. Is Randy Orton really the most beloved wrestler by the gay community? 3. What do you think about Kanyon? 1) Well, when they show Chris Masters oiling up before a match, or when Stevie Richards comes out in pink pants, there is homoeroticism in there. And it does boil down to two naked men in underwear rolling about. However, footballers in Spain kissing each other when substituted and bathing together is equally homoerotic. 2) Don't know, since I'm not really in a "gay community": he does have tiny pants and is renowned for being a hunk, but personally, I'm turned off by arrogant jerks, so he's not one of my favourites (this is also part of my dislike for another homotastic wrestler, Shawn Michaels). 3) He's the Ellen of wrestling. You're gay? Great. Now shut up about it already.
