Since there is only so much video game developers can do and are allowed to do, some projects fall through the cracks never to see the light of day. Some of these unreleased games had the potential to become classics or were just an interesting concept that was different from whats out there.
In this thread we can discuss cancelled video games that we wouldve like to have seen released for whatever reasons.
I'll s start off by giving a shout to two cancelled Batman games, Gotham by Gaslight and The Dark Knight. Gaslight had a very interesting concept and had a steampunk-type envivornment but was cancelled after THQ lost the rights apparently. The Dark Knight was based on the film and I wouldve have like to seen that world on PS3 (It was exclusive) but I think it was cancelled due to Heath Ledgers death if I remember correctly.

Just came in to say this. I still don't really get what the game was going to be, but it looked interesting enough to check out.

There was supposed to be a sequel in the works to Shadow Complex, a fantastic Metroid-style game by ChAIR for XBox Live Arcade, but it got canned. No idea what ChAIR is doing now besides making the Infinity Blade games for iOS.
Starcraft Ghost also interested me a lot and that's one of the more famous canned games out there. At least Nova, the game's intended hero, showed up in Stacraft II and she's also going to be in Heroes of the Storm.
And Mega Man Legends 3, though from what it sounded like the game's development cycle was a complete mess and if the game ever managed to come out it would've been horrible. Inafune's leaving Capcom was the final nail in the coffin, but it sounds like the game was on life support even when he was still there.
And not so much cancelled games because it came out in Japan, but Seiken Densetsu 3/"Secret of Mana 2" never being released outside its home country in spite of an English version being worked on is a damn shame.

Thrill Kill for the Playstation. Even as a kid, it seemed so ridiculous and I desperately wanted to play it.

Thrill Kill.
Just out of morbid curiosity more then anything else.
Edit: Wow, talk about some crazy timing there.

And again, not so much a canceled game, but all the cut content, canceled features, and canned expansion ideas for World of Warcraft could fill three-four games at least.

Fear Effect 3: Inferno. I wanted to see more paranormal adventures with Hana, Glas, Deke, and Rain. Unfortunately, Kronos went bankrupt so Eidos shut them down. Some cutscenes from the game have been released on YouTube, and from I can tell the story would have been good. If only Kickstarter existed in the late 2000s. At least the canon endings in the previous two games by themselves are a full circle but it still would have been nice for it to have been a trilogy.

Aliens: Crucible, Maximo 3, Star Wars 1313, the Streets of Rage reboot, Dirty f***in' Harry, and LMNO. Thrill Kill. Just out of morbid curiosity more then anything else. Edit: Wow, talk about some crazy timing there. I almost put Thrill Kill on my list but I remembered how it easy it is to find online to play.

Highlander.
It's a series that could make a REALLY interesting game, and the development seemed to be going well.

Star Wars Battlefront 3. From what rumors I heard, this game was supposed to include the ability to get into your star fighter and go into space from a planet, so none of that "one or the other" stuff from the previous games! There was supposedly also going to be a what-if style story line for the game where Obi-Wan possibly falls to the dark side or something. I'm definitely not a shooter fan, but I did love the Star Wars Battlefront series, and this cancellation was disappointing to say the least.
