Good for him. I've always liked his interviews.

WWE: TNA, we see your Josh Matthews hire and we counter with hiring Arda Ocal.

Cool. Even though I don't think I've ever heard his podcast, the name Arca Ocal is definitely one any internet wrestling fan is at least slightly aware of. Great get by the WWE. "Kyle Edwards" brings to mind someone who's in NASCAR. Carl Edwards, perhaps?

It's better to have announcers wear black cowboy hats.

I get that. But it's an announcer. I can't imagine an announcer using his name elsewhere being...anything. That's just such a weird practice. I understand the idea of giving wrestlers a different name, they are characters and all. I understand why you would want to give a character a different name. Giving an announcer a name so they can't use their name elsewhere is...well. I can't really imagine a scenario where someone goes 'SCOTT STANFORD IS ANNOUNCING THIS PAY PER VIEW? WELL f*** YOU WWE THEN, I'M GONNA GO WATCH THIS INDIE FED." Like I seriously cannot comprehend it. I always assumed WWE gave announcers names that were more "TV friendly." That is, names that can roll right off the tongue when someone says them. Which of these would probably be easier to say if you had to hear them every week: Michael Coulthard or Michael Cole? Josh Lomberger or Josh Mathews? Renee Paquette or Renee Young? If I ever got an on-air job with WWE, the company would almost certainly give me a stage name because most everyone screws my last name up. Because of Jonathan Coachman and Todd Grisham leaving for ESPN.

The funny thing is, WWE can't actually trademark a name like that, because there tens of thousands of dudes named Kyle Edwards out there. You can only truly own the rights to a creative property or brand. If WWE called Arda Ocal Sean Carless for example, I could still use my name professionally anywhere because I actually own it legally by proxy of being alive, lol.

Awesome for him, I really hope WWE considers teaming him and Renee together for a weekly recap show on the Network.

Good. Always liked Arda, and not just because he liked one of my captions on Twitter enough to let me be a winner (though that's also pretty cool). He's always come across as a fan of the business.

Great. I suggest firing Lawler and JBL. Then putting Cole into backstage interviews and man rape segments.

I was wondering why I was randomly following WWE's Kyle Edwards on Twitter seemingly out of the blue today.

Great. I suggest firing Lawler and JBL. Then putting Cole into backstage interviews and man rape segments. This is...odd. On another note, glad to see him finally get to WWE. I was always surprised WWE signed Renee ahead of him to be honest.

They should rehire Jimmy Kordares for their post shows, and then you have Renee, Arda and Jimmy back again doing a post show.

wouldn't be surprised if someone thought "Arda Ocal" sounded too... ethnic.
but I can't complain too much, always liked Arda and glad to see him getting some of that sweet WWE cash.

For a global brand they are oddly insistent on using anglo-saxon names. Don't they want to appear diverse? Wouldn't it be good to have a French last name and whatever Orcal is? The way they rebrand stuff makes no sense to me. It did in the past when they didn't want someone taking their gimmick with them, like Undertaker, Godfather or Honky Tonk Man but just generic names like Bray Wyatt or Sami Zane?. Who cares! Anyway, good for Arda. He's definitely a legit fan and a good commentator. I've heard him do at least one local show (BCW).

If I recall from his old podcast, I believe Arda Ocal's name is Turkish.

They should rehire Jimmy Kordares for their post shows, and then you have Renee, Arda and Jimmy back again doing a post show. I would gladly start watching again if we got the OG Aftermath crew hosting a post-show.

If this tweet is legit, Arda Ocal has joined his Aftermath friend Renee Pacquette (now Renee Young) in the WWE... Appears his WWE name will be Kyle Edwards Am I the only one who thinks they must have gotten this backwards? Arda Ocal sounds so much like something from the NXT name generator, and Kyle Edwards sounds like someone's real name. Or did they change it so they can give the AO name to Keivn Steen?
