As Clay Travis put it, how dumb does this kid have to be that we're reading this story and thinking, "Well...it's possible"?

So Winston's attorney will delay until after FSU's bowl game. Tremendous. Or until they lose. Whichever comes first.

I really really hope this one has no legs. If it does it opens the entire sport up to examination BC if it is happening in one place it must be happening elsewhere

I don't buy it. The alleged bet was a prop-bet for the first half on L'ville +1. If the score is tied at the half you win, why totally crap the bed and be way behind then throw a pick to start the second half? I'm not a Winston fan but that just doesn't make sense.

To leave no room for error, this way it guarantees somebody makes money. I don't know if it's true or not, but just remember point shaving is not done by being obvious. I've seen people point to Jameis getting a 3rd and long conversion as evidence he wasn't doing it. Point shaving is done by doing some small things wrong, and other things correct so it doesn't raise suspicion. And ICBM, if this allegation proves to be false, it is happening in football and basketball. There's money to be made, and these kids are doing what they can to make the money.

It's possible but I don't think its probable. You can be almost completely sure on the bet without getting way behind like FSU did. Plus there was Winston's pick to start the second half, it isn't like he just came out gangbusters for the second half. If he was worried enough about the game that he'd only fix the first half I don't see him going to that extent of overkill in the fix. Plus what he'd get from the bet would not be worth risking the millions he's set to make in the NFL. Literally risking his football career for $5000 would be moronic even for him. Like I said possible, but it looks like just a net-rumor that has taken wing because of Winston's history.

I don't doubt the Winston point-shaving story for a second. If he'd do everything else he did, he certainly would have no issues with point-shaving.
It must be nice to rape, steal, point-shave, etc. and get away with it. If only we were all really good at a sport, then we too would be above the law!

I'm not saying that it's definitely true, but he could have come out with the intention of keeping it close enough to win the bet, when unfortunately for him Louisville actually showed up to play and started kicking his ass. Winston is an idiot that seems to think that he's above the law/rules don't apply to him, so I can definitely see him thinking that he can get away with this bet and not considering his NFL prospects. Even without this latest debacle some moron NFL team will take him and then act surprised when he self destructs, though I can't see him getting thoroughly investigated like NFL teams do and still getting taken in the first round. Teams might take risks on less marquee positions but it would be hard to take that risk on what could be a franchise QB. Ryan Leaf 2 incoming.

Find out that he has connections with terrorist groups. Turns out his real name was JameISIS Winston. Winston isn't his last name. It turns out it was a marketing ploy by Winston cigarettes.

Former football player Mike McAdoo has filed a class-action lawsuit against the school, claiming UNC broke its promise to give him an education in return for playing sports. The other 3,100 athletes who took fake classes at UNC are also eligible to join the suit. McAdoo lost his eligibility in 2011 when he was accused of getting too much help on a paper and was one of the first athletes to take part in paper classes.

Wait a second, did my ears deceive me or did the Gameday crew say that "It will be a different look at quarterback as Trevor Knight has become a running a threat"?
OK I know it's ESPN, but how the f*** did Trevor Knight just now become a running threat? He was a running threat in high school, he was a running threat when Oklahoma recruited him, he was a running threat last year, and has been a running threat his whole career. f***ing ESPN.

In tesponse to the legations, Coach Jimbo Fischer said "He's a good kid and there is no reason to suspect him of this.". When presented with photographic evidence showing Winston holding a rifle with the words "kill Kennedy " inscribed on the stock, he stuck to his guns and redoubled his faith in Winston saying "Listen, he's a young kid and prone to mistakes. Anyone of us has done foolish things in our youth. We will allow the investigation to reveal what it will before taking any action." We reached out to the Chief of Police in tallahasse se who provided the following statement "After a rigorous fifteen minute investigation and despite what you think is evidence, we have found no link between. Jaemis Winston and the Kennedy assassination". When pressed for a response about newly uncovered evidence purported to be a confession note the chief said, "as far as I am concerned the case is closed and we have no reason to investigate further. Now excuse me I'm off to the tailgate"
