Whether it was as Sid Vicious, Sid Justice, or Sycho Sid he gave us a lot of memories (good and bad).
Here is a hidden gem from WrestleMania 8 :
Sid to Mean Gene "Shut up you fat, bald-headed little oaf!"
Oaf is someone who is large and clumsy.

Sid was a natural at everything except that one thing that keeps him from getting the respect he deserves. He sucked in the ring. Other than that, he had the look, charisma, promo skills, convincing character portrayal, and he could get the crowd into whatever he was doing.

I always thought he would have made a perfect Sabertooth for the X-Men movies. Tall, muscular, savage looking dude who looked like he could wreck anything in his way.

His problem is that he was unfocused and never had the right manager. He really needed a Bobby Heenan type who could get over his size and imposing physicality but also compensate for him in terms of selling his promos and storylines. Sid was like Warrior in that what he said sounded good as far as tone and intensity was concerned but it did little to help sell him as much of it was rambled and a bit all over the place.
Sid with a Bobby Heenan could have been the premier heel in the business from 1992-95

He was an unintentional face to me in 1992
He was unfairly eliminated from the Royal Rumble, and Jack Tunney's decision WAS bogus.
The dubbed commentary made it even worse.
It was a very strange feud with Hogan.

Sid had such a great charisma and imposing look that he didn't *have* to be great in the ring.

Loved his run in ECW, booked as an absolute monster, came in, destroyed, simple but effective.

Sid gave everything he had when he was in the ring. Even if he wasn't particularly good at it, you could tell he wasn't slacking or trying to get by on his name/rep.

One of my all time favorites, dude oozed charisma and had that intangible "it" factor to spare.
He was like an epic cartoon character come to life, and that's just how I like my wrasslin dammit.

He scared me so much as child that I was never able to appreciate him as a character (see also: Vader). I definitely appreciate him a lot more now. Solid Big Guy, you can't ask for much more. He played his role perfectly

I can't believe it went this far without mentioning the time he broke his leg...

Is it actually true that he shit himself in a match or is that just one of those urban legends?

Excellent point and one I feel isn't stated enough. Totally agree as well. He had so much intensity when he was playing Sid Justice that it really helped cover up for what he lacked. I can remember him walking down to the ring in step with the rhythm of his music, leaping up onto the apron, then getting in and destroying the other guy, finishing him off with a sick looking powerbomb.

Sid is one of my all time favorites, that dude can to this day walk into any arena in the world and have fans going nuts for him. Sure, he sucked in the ring, but he had that intangible that most guys that can do anything in the ring completely lack.
