Just don't kill off Cap. Please, for the love of God, let's not redo Death of Captain America.

If we're gonna kill Cap, save it for Infinity War Pt. 1 or something. (Yes, I know that'll likely get undone in Pt. 2)

With Chris Evans most likely done after Infinity War and Winter Soldier and Falcon already in the MCU, I think our next Cap will be one of them. Honestly, I hope they skip Bucky as Captain America and think they should just go straight to Falcon as the new Captain America. That would make for a really cool movie and gives audiences another black superhero in a leading role. And, it still sticks to the source material so fanboys won't have a hissy fit.

I'd keep Falcon as Falcon for now and follow Bucky's story. But I just prefer going in chronological order.

Wait...so fanboys WON'T throw a hissy fit? Dude, comic turbo nerds will most certainly cry all over their vacuum-sealed comics if Falcon got the shield over Winter Soldier. Granted, I will do as I am used to doing and use their moist tears to keep my chassis shiny and chrome. Still, fanboys would most certainly complain. OH, WILL THEY COMPLAIN.

I'd complain because I dislike FalCap. No comic related reasoning or ordering or whatever, just dislike FalCAp

But man, I can really go without people complaining about strawman Social Justice Bards or whatever they're calling the boogeyman this week.

Eh, maybe I was just trying to be optimistic or having just a little bit of faith in humanity left. I only ever see people throwing fits about this shit online. Not so much here. Which is why I like this place. But, the folks I know who are in to this stuff and the dudes at the comic shop I frequent certainly don't act all dumb about it. @y2joey I'd prefer chronological order too but, from a studio perspective looking to appeal to more and more people and the vocal call for diversity in these types of films, jumping ahead to Sam Wilson as Captain America is something surely they've considered. I would prefer to stick to the order of Cap replacements we all know but I'd get it if they went right to "FalCap".

I think the success, financially speaking, of Black Panther will probably help with making those sort of decisions. Sadly, as much as people ask for diversity, when it comes, films with strong black leads don't tend to make that much at the box office (outside of Will Smith movies), especially in the international market. If BP seriously under performs in comparison to other Marvel movies, FalCAp wont be seen any time soon.

IT seems a little wierd to even be discussing this at this point since he hasn't even had a full movie where he's been the Falcon yet. I mean he had the last big action piece in Winter Soldier and like a scene in Ant-man... not that Bucky's had much more. and they both have more than Sharon Carter who would be the other person I think Steve would have passed the name onto ... what about Steven Rogers the crazy guy that thinks he's the original Cap? No? fine... jerks...

I'd complain because I dislike FalCap. No comic related reasoning or ordering or whatever, just dislike FalCAp I'm still playing catch up so I haven't got to him being Cap yet. I did pick up Avengers/X-Men: Axis recently during a sale on the Marvel app and was reading the first issue. It was the first book I've read with Sam as Captain America. Wasn't really feeling it. He was kind of whiney and I didn't like that. It seemed like he is bothered because the other heroes don't feel he's good enough to be Captain America. Is that how it's been in the "FalCap" solo and Avengers books? If so, that's kind of dumb. Why any of the Avengers would think Falcon isn't good enough to be the new Cap makes no sense. Falcon and Captain America have been partners forever, besides Bucky he's the best person for that position. Is it being written has a story where every one else is cool with it but it's really just Sam doubting himself and thinking he's not good enough? That would make sense but I wasn't really getting that impression from that first issue of A/X Axis.

Now that I made the joke a moment ago I do kinda wanna see the William Burnside arc in a movie... Could even have the setup being that the government tried to make their own super soldier during the Civil War, and now Burnside is a Paranoid Lunatic that believes he's Steve Rogers... that needs to be stopped

Wasn't there just a Civil War Secret Wars tie in? This whole thing of making sure the comics line up with whatever film is coming out at the time is lame. They also announced a big X-Men crossover event focused on Apocalypse to start around the time of that movies release as well. I get why they do it but it all seems so forced and unnecessary. Why do we need another Civil War in the comics? It has been done already. What's the story going to be this time? Since Civil War there have been numerous events that have changed the shape of the Marvel Universe "forever". What could you do now that could possibly put these heroes at war with each other again? The original Civil War, while I enjoyed most of it, isn't exactly looked back upon fondly by most. So I don't think people will be rushing to read a new Civil War because of nostalgia or whatever. The last one left a lot of people unsatisfied. Can we get something new that doesn't rely on old stories and not give it the same damn name too? I want something new that hasn't been done before. Marvel and WWE have so much in common sometimes with shit like this. Stop relying on stuff from the past and give the fans something new to care about.

Is it possible they go with the outcome of Cap potentially faking his death and thus not showing what actually happened until he makes a heroic return in Infinity War Part 1? Or would they be overkill if Thanos kills him after he lifts Thor's hammer and returns in Part 2 to lead the Avengers to overcoming Thanos and the Gauntlet?

Watching this scene here really drives home the point of Cap and Tony being friends. Regardless of their banter towards one another, there is definitely an unspoken friendship and respect amongst the two. That's what makes Tony's line "So was I." so great in my opinion.

And multiple times. If there's one thing Marvel did do with Civil War was making sure with have hero vs hero events until the day pigs flew.

They can't keep killing people. Whedon did his usual thing with that and, as usual, made it cliché. There has to be no death for a bit, so that we feel really shocked when Thanos kills everyone in IW1.
