from the UK charts .....
The Beatles have the most Christmas Number 1s – they have scored four in total. The first three, I Want To Hold Your Hand, I Feel Fine and Day Tripper/We Can Work It Out topped the Official Singles Chart consecutively from 1963–1965. Hello, Goodbye was the fourth in 1967.
Spice Girls also notched up three consecutive Christmas Number 1s: 2 Become 1, Too Much and Goodbye all reached the snow-topped summit from 1996–1998.
Six Christmas Number 1s have had the word ‘Christmas’ in the title, not including Slade’s Merry Xmas Everybody from 1973.
Do They Know It’s Christmas? has been Christmas Number 1 three times: for Band Aid in 1984, Band Aid II in 1989, and finally for Band Aid 20 in 2004. The first version of Do They Know It’s Christmas? is the biggest selling Christmas Number 1 of all time, with over 3.7 million copies sold.
Mary’s Boy Child has been a Christmas Number 1 twice for totally different artists. Harry Belafonte topped the Christmas charts with it in 1957 and Boney M took a one-horse open sleigh all the way to Number 1 with in 1978.
The only song to have made it to Christmas Number 1 twice by the same artist is Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen. It first topped the Christmas charts in 1975 and pulled it off again 16 years later, following the death of frontman Freddie Mercury.

Isn't Bohemian Rhapsody also the only song to be number one twice, on two separate releases but without any re-recording or remastering whatsoever?

-Freddy Mercury did not die of AIDS, he died of pneumonia. No one really dies "of AIDS", they die of a disease that their immune system, having been completely destroyed by HIV/AIDS, is unable to defend against. Pneumonia is one of the most common diseases people suffering from AIDS die of. He did in fact die as a result of having AIDS. Agreed. It's sort of like saying "It's not the bullet that killed him, it's the incident that followed where all his blood fell out." Turns out not having an immune system makes you die of stuff you otherwise would have survived.

despite what people say, Slash and Duff actually didnt sign the rights to the guns n roses name over to Axl under duress, that the story of "axl said he wont perform unless they sign over the rights" is actually false...the document shows Slash and Duff signed on different days, and while GnR wernt on tour.. GNR ended the US run of the Illusions tour October 6, 1992 and didnt do another gig until November 25th, 1992. Slash singed the document on October 15th and Duff signed it on October 21st. The dates are in the exact same handwriting suggesting the same person put both the dates down.

-Jimi Hendrix father was convinced that the left hand was "the devil's hand" (a common belief at the time) and forbade Hendrix to play left-handed. As a child Hendrix would play the guitar left-handed but when he heard his father coming he would quickly flip the guitar and continue playing right handed (with upside down chord shapes). This is widely believed to have been instrumental in the development of his unique style. -Lemmy and Sid Vicious briefly lived together in the 70's. Lemmy attempted to teach Sid to play bass and is often credited as his teacher. He has however since responded "I never taught Sid to play bass. NO ONE could teach Sid to play bass". -So bad was Sid's playing, that he was often left not-plugged in onstage. Sid does not play on the NMTB album. Steve Jones and Glen Matlock (briefly rehired, having been fired weeks before) play the bass parts. -The song 53rd and 3rd is rumoured to be about Dee Dee Ramone's time as a rent boy to ugly to have ever been picked. -Before finding fame in Led Zeppelin, Jimmy Page was the go to session musician of the 60's. Playing on "Season of the Witch"-Donovan/"With a Little Help From My Friends"-Joe Cocker/"It's Not Unusual"-Tom Jones and even "Goldfinger". Page also played on tracks by Bowie, The Who, The Kinks and Burt Bacharach. -Black Sabbath attempted to play Reading Festival with a replica of Stone Henge in their back-drop. The Model Henge was too large to put onstage and the roadies had to saw off several inches of the top to fit on. This is rumoured to be the influence for Spinal Tap's legendary Stone Henge scene.

- Mark Wahlberg was a member of New Kids on the Block (he left the group before they started recording).
- The Temptations recorded a couple of songs under a different name (The Pirates).

This was an advertisement placed by Heart Management in "The Stage" trade magazine in February of 1994.
The "all female pop act" became the Spice Girls.

Barry Manilow is the patron saint of cheesy music but also commercial jingles. He wrote: -"You deserve a break today" for McDonalds -"Like a Good Neighbor" for State Farm -"Stuck on me" for Band-Aid

In 1993 Prince was involved in a bitter dispute with Warner Brothers that got so toxic, he changed his name to an unpronouncable symbol and wrote "SLAVE" on his face, and ultimately culminated in him leaving the label in 1996
In 2014, Prince re-signed with Warner Brothers.
