Was at the show (front row) and could tell you that this was a much better show than the last Dayton show (Flying High). The Tomasso/Hanson vs Bennett/Taven match was the best although way way too many superkicks on Hanson (like the Young Bucks would say it was too many)

J Diesel, Brandon Espinosa and Kirk Stallion are really bad.

The fan was some local guy who is suppose to be appearing on The Amazing Race next season

The Alberto-Roderick match was good and had some hardway bleeding from Roderick and BJ

Why is Moose getting a push so quick after feuding with RD?

I have to say that I am now a fan of Michael Bennett. The guy is hilarious and I loved that Taven referred to him and Bennett and the Internet Darlings (because they have been to Japan). He was saying "Oh my titties. Oh my boobies" after getting chopped. As he was crawling on the ground, someone said, "Stay down Bennett" and he collapsed. When the fan said "Good job" Bennett gave him the thumbs up

Watching the Del Rio/Chris Daniels RoH show:

-I just mentioned last week that it was time for a new intro and we got one, so I'm taking credit for it.

- If we're counting the different eras of ROH we must now agree we're living in the Health Alert Hotline era. The way in which they're finding new and inventive ways every week to make their presence felt on these shows is inspiring.

- I actually got goosebumps watching ODB come in which is odd because I always found her kind of annoying in TNA, but she fits with the Briscoes really well and the way the crowd responded, with Kelly/Corino going apeshit made it awesome.

- Beer City Bruiser vs. Mikey Webb. Holy shit did I not expect to enjoy that match as much as I did. It dawned on me watching it what a rarity an authentic big man match is these days, Bruiser is a big man who actually worked like a big man, except for a jumping sommersault from the apron to the floor, but then the sommersault actually left Webb laying for a 19 second count outside. I almost wish they ended it on the count out because that would be a pretty awesome finisher, just a giant man flattening you from the outside. Bruiser sorely needs to change his name if he's gonna be a mainstay though.

- I said it before and since I'm seeing it now I'll say it again. That Chikara ad is awful.

- Chris Daniels' entrance strut is the best.

- So surreal watching Del Rio wrestle in ROH. The guy is so good, there's no reason he shouldn't hae been a lifer in WWE. Jay Lethal was amazing on commentary for this.

IT WILL BE TAG TEAM ARMAGEDDON WHEN ROH RETURNS TO ATLANTA
THE BRISCOES VS THE KINGDOM W/ MARIA KANELLIS



The war between the Kingdom and the Briscoe Brothers has raged into 2015 with an escalation of aggression and an increase in ferocity. This past Friday night in Dearborn, MI, after another brawl with the Kingdom, ROH World Champion Jay Briscoe made a challenge to matchmaker Nigel McGuinness. Come up with a match to settle it once and for all between him and his brother and Michael Bennett and Matt Taven.

In his plea to McGuinness, Briscoe talked about “end times” and “Armageddon”, the ultimate conflict between good and evil. ROHWrestling.com can confirm that Nigel McGuinness has signed a match to settle things between the two warring factions once and for all.

On February 21st, in Atlanta, GA, at the North Atlanta Trade Center, you will see “TAG TEAM ARMAGEDDON” between the Briscoe Brothers and the Kingdom’s Michael Bennett and Matt Taven with Maria Kanellis. McGuinness says that he is reticent to sanction what promises to be a violent encounter. However, it must end and Atlanta has been chosen to host this last battle.

Here are the rules of TAG TEAM ARMAGEDDON, a 2-out-of-3 Falls Match.
First Fall – Regular Tag Team rules apply.
Second Fall – Tables Match. The first team to put one member of the opposing team through a table will win the fall.
Third and Final Fall – Falls Count Anywhere. A pin fall or submission can happen anywhere!

More importantly, this will be the last time these two teams will be signed to face one another, so it must be settled in Atlanta on February 21st. With so much at stake, one can only imagine to what lengths each team will go to end this feud once and for all.

A VIEW FROM RINGSIDE – DEARBORN AND DAYTON

From my seat at ringside I love it when I see every seat filled and fans standing. A standing-room-only crowd is a true indicator as to how hot the promotion is and such was the case this weekend. Fans jammed the Ford Community Center in Dearborn, MI and the historic Fairgrounds Coliseum in Dayton, OH for two red-hot nights of Ring of Honor Wrestling. Here are some thoughts from the weekend.

-Alberto El Patrón is the man. Really, that’s it. He’s the man! Here’s a guy who’s a huge international star and he has come into ROH not only looking to entertain the fans but also pit his skills against the best that ROH has to offer. In the two matches this weekend, against ACH in Dearborn and Roderick Strong in Dayton, Alberto put his body at risk as he pushed himself beyond imagination. -I saw Roddy at the airport Sunday morning and I was surprised with what I saw. He was happy. Happy not only because he had two amazing matches against Jay Lethal on Friday in Dearborn and the previously mentioned battle with Alberto in Dayton but also because he is keyed up for his match with BJ Whitmer at the 13th Anniversary on Sunday, March 1st on Pay-per-View. He said he was sore and tired but Strong is in a great place mentally, ready to settle things with Whitmer.

-ACH wants AJ Styles. I heard him say the phrase “I WANT AJ STYLES” about a thousand times over the weekend. Is ACH biting off more than he chew? I talked to ACH for the first installment of “Five Questions With” and the young man is confident, for sure. You can see it by clicking here

-Injury Report: Jay Briscoe was cut on Friday when “Unbreakable” Michael Elgin struck him with the ROH World Championship belt. No stitches needed but a message was sent by Elgin. The pictures of the effects of the attack were nasty.

Elgin may have suffered a stinger in his match on Saturday with Chris Dickinson, who impressed ROH officials in Dayton. Elgin said he would be fine but there were some tense moments in the final minutes of their war.

Roderick Strong did not break his nose on Saturday against Alberto El Patrón but struggled toward the end of the match with the amount of blood he swallowed. El Patrón had a pretty nasty abrasion on his head and had some swelling where he crashed into the barricade on a suicide dive. Reports of a concussion were incorrect. Both Strong and Patrón were banged up but otherwise ok.

-An impromptu tag team match in Dayton brought me to my feet at the end as Michael Bennett and Matt Taven wound up facing Tommaso Ciampa and Hanson. I would like to see these four go at it again.

-When will Adam Cole break his silence and when he does, what will he say? I have to believe he will finally speak soon but it’s obvious by his body language that Cole is not ready to talk yet.

-Is Moose being pushed by Stokely Hathaway too quickly or is the unbeaten ROH rookie ready to step up? With agents and other representation all relying on Moose to generate revenue, it’s no surprise but is he ready?

-A lot of talk among the locker room this weekend about who is the most dominant champion in ROH? Some believe it is Jay Briscoe while others think it’s Jay Lethal.

-Maria Kanellis is training heavily for her match with ODB at the 13th Anniversary. Rumors of her training in Cameron, NC were confirmed by the Queen of the Kingdom and the First Lady of ROH herself.

-Another KRD sighting in Dayton. Something tells me Truth Martini knows something about the Knights of the Rising Dawn.

He holds victories over some of the biggest names in the company and is a member of the vaunted "Bullet Club", a group of bandits who at one time helped AJ win the prestigious New Japan Pro Wrestling IWGP Heavyweight Title. Without a doubt AJ Styles is one of the very best wrestlers to ever lace up a pair of boots.

ACH is a rambunctious, gravity-defying star with a very bright future. He has signed on to this match recognizing that a chance to face one of the very best on live Pay Per View does not come along that often. ACH may be filled with youthful exuberance, but he is hard working and determined to come out of this the winner.

Dalton Castle was awesome but his theme was really poorly fitting, which sucks 'cause ROH has been pretty on the ball with their theme choices.
