Not good news coming out of Sinclair...

There are a lot of financial issues with the company which basically involve Sinclair not getting more behind it. Joe Koff met with the head guys at Sinclair in December, and pitched them hard to expand the budget in 2015 and 2016, pushing that they could become the No. 2 wrestling company in the country. The Briscoes and Adam Cole were also brought to the meeting and did pro wrestling promos pitching that they could become the No. 2 promotion in the country with TNA losing steam with its move to Destination America. Unfortunately, the pitch failed. It also hurt that the second PPV in December only did 8,000 buys, which was said to be under projections but not greatly under projections. Sinclair told them to be more disciplined in spending in 2015 and the feeling is they want ROH for consistent programming but are not looking at investing strongly into it nor taking chances to build it. That's what led to questions about future iPPVs because the cost of refunds have been high due to misfires, and cutting back on the New Japan joint shows as far less wrestlers at this point are scheduled to be brought in.

That's also why people like Michael Bennett, Maria Kanellis and Roderick Strong aren't under contract and there is interest in the Bennett/Kanellis act in New Japan, TNA and Lucha Underground.

Ok, outside of the NJPW officials love staring at Maria's ass and boobs; why in the hell do they want the Bennetts? Same for Lucha Underground. I see them more of a TNA act than anything else. And I sense this is going to be the end of ROH exclusive contracts. Sinclair wants a tv show, not a wrestling company.

Bennett and Maria would immediately be put in the Bullet Club more than likely. That's the only thing I can think of them doing in New Japan.



However, they're going to need to go elsewhere after the Bullet Club eventually disbands because they won't fit in at all anywhere in Japan.

I actually got no beef with Bennett and think he's one of the most effective heels in the company. He was awful for the longest time but, somewhere along the line, he developed into a damn solid hand in the ring and his act with Maria is great. He's not gonna be having any incredible matches but he can carry his own weight.

I like Bennett. I just don't think he has any future in New Japan outside of the Bullet Club. Though, a stint in Japan could really help him.

I recognize what Bennett is and isn't. I got no problem with him in ring wise but I don't see where he would fit in either New Japan or Lucha Underground. Him and Maria in TNA is more realistic and beneficial to them than those other options including ROH.

The last thing Bullet Club or New Japan needs is them. Why would you wanna drag down guys like The Bucks, Anderson, AJ, Omega, by putting them in with them?

ROH has been pushing and nudging Bennett as the next big guy WWE signs from them for years and they haven't budged an inch or taken any interest. Maybe they should realize WWE doesn't want him

Bennett has gotten so much better but I think he'll always be that guy that Jim Cornette shoved down everyones' throats when he was the dirt worst. I remember I hated him when he first came in and though he dragged ROH down a lot but a couple of years ago I started to see that he had gotten better but still could not take him in ROH. About a year or so ago I really started to take notice but seeing him and Taven against reDRagon at GBH last year I really saw how good he is and look forward to his stuff.

Wasn't that the issue early on with ROH under Sinclair?

As for the IPPVs, nobody but ROH should get crap for that since out of every indy company that runs ippv ROH (the company with the most money available to them) is the only one that consistently has had issues.

Only reason they haven't done it because the ROH tv show does strong ratings on their stations. That's how they see Ring of Honor: as a cheap tv show that brings in viewers. The thought of making ROH anything more than that is not in their minds.
