- ROH World & World Television Champion Jay Lethal & ROH World Tag Team Champions The Addiction vs. Adam Cole & reDRagon

Our epic main event is now signed as ROH World & World Television Champion Jay Lethal w/Truth Martini teams with ROH World Tag Team Champions “Of The World” The Addiction to battle the team of former ROH World Tag Team Champions reDRagon (Bobby Fish & Kyle O’Reilly) and former ROH World and Television Champion, Adam Cole.

The Addiction have created quite a stir for themselves recently. Interfering in a match on Ring of Honor Television between Adam Cole & Kyle O’Reilly backfired on the Champions. Cole & O’Reilly, who have a past as the tag team Future Shock, immediately sensed an opportunity. They challenged Daniels & Kazarian for the ROH World Tag Team Championships. Daniels & Kazarian were lucky to survive the match and held on to their titles, but we can rest assured this hostility is far from settled. The issues between the Addiction and reDRagon have also been well publicized since The Addiction defeated them for their championships and will definitely play into the emotional intensity of this match.

Jay Lethal has an amplified target on his back. Holding 2 championships with multiple challengers for each coming at him cannot be easy. Kyle O’Reilly is the current #1 Contender to the ROH World Championship and Bobby Fish is the current #1 Contender to ROH World Television Championship. Both have scheduled matches with Lethal coming up on Pay Per View at All Star Extravaganza in September. Adam Cole, a former ROH World Champion, is always in the discussion for an ROH Championship opportunity. All three will have Lethal's number!


- MARK BRISCOE VS. CLIFF COMPTON

The always controversial Cliff Compton is returning to Ring of Honor as faces off with the fearless “Sussex Chicken” Mark Briscoe!

Ring of Honor fans will remember the shocking path Compton has taken. As a member of S.C.U.M. he was hell bent on destroying the company from the inside. He had epic battles with Kevin Steen and most recently returned and nearly defeated ROH World Television Champion Jay Lethal in a hard fought contest.

Mark Briscoe is looking to seize this opportunity to not only defeat Compton but to send a message that his aspirations for singles glory in Ring of Honor are very much in effect. Can Briscoe knock off the self proclaimed "Mr. 1859”? Can Compton establish himself against a true ROH Original? One thing we do know is these two will be bringing the fight to Atlanta!


- MOOSE w/STOKELY HATHAWAY VS. JAY BRISCOE

Although Moose has his sights locked on Cedric Alexander, he has a huge match scheduled for our Atlanta return! Former 2 time World Champion Jay Briscoe is one of the absolute greatest to ever compete in an ROH ring and will go down in history as a legend in Ring of Honor. While Moose is still early into his professional wrestling career, he has taken the world by storm and is only getting better. For an athlete like Moose, the experience and savvy of Jay Briscoe presents what might be the biggest challenge of his career so far!

Jay Briscoe is always one of the most popular stars at any ROH event. But Atlanta is solidly behind MOOSE no matter what! Two teams with major challenges on the horizon square off in Atlanta! Earlier this week, Nigel McGuinness announced he has signed a Best of 5 Challenge Series between Matt Sydal and ACH. ACH wants to prove himself to his partner...by defeating him! The first of these matches is set for Dearborn. But first they will team up once again to take on WAR MACHINE!

Hanson and Rowe have their own huge opportunity looming as it was just revealed they will take their war with Killer Elite Squad all the way to Japan! First they need to focus on the task at hand, as Sydal and ACH are very different athletes than the KES. The tag team division in Ring of Honor is simply the best on the planet!


- RODERICK STRONG VS. CAPRICE COLEMAN

The charismatic preacher will be bringing a lot of athletic ability to back up his braggadocio, but will it be enough to take on Mr. ROH? Recently, Coleman has had some mysterious involvement with Prince Nana and continuing issues with his former partner, Cedric Alexander. But he needs to clear his head if he wants to step up against the athlete many are calling the current best in the world: Roderick Strong. Although he was not victorious in Philadelphia or Brooklyn, Strong's showings against Lethal and Okada were the talk of the entire weekend and he's not about to slow down now.


- THE KINGDOM (MATT TAVEN & MICHAEL BENNETT) w/MARIA KANELLIS VS. WILL FERRARA & WATANABE

The Kingdom have established themselves as an international force, and it seems inevitable that ROH gold is in their future. But in Atlanta, they take on the unlikely team of ROH Dojo standout Will Ferrara and WATANABE! Recently, Watanabe has been on a roll in Ring of Honor, with crowds behind him and the wins piling up! He even snagged an upcoming ROH World TV Championship opportunity at FELD OF HONOR! With that momentum on their side, can he and Ferrara make The Kingdom crumble?


- “UNBREAKABLE” MICHAEL ELGIN VS. ADAM PAGE w/ BJ WHITMER

Page and Whitmer have been extremely vocal in their belief that Adam Page is "owed" main event matches. In particular, Page has been antagonizing Jay Briscoe himself! But in Atlanta, Adam Page has the chance to actually PROVE he deserves to rise through the ranks when he battles a former ROH World Champion, Michael Elgin!

Thanks to the encouragement of Veda Scott, Cedric Alexander has a new attitude - and like it or not, it's getting him the results he's been waiting for. But in Atlanta, he takes on an ambitious young athlete who has known him since the earliest days of his career: Corey Hollis! Hollis has impressed in every outing with ROH, and he's going to be looking to grab any opportunity he can. WAR MACHINE IS HEADED TO JAPAN TO CHALLENGE FOR THE GHC HEAVYWEIGHT TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP



Back in April “Unbreakable” Michael Elgin was in a state of turmoil. The former ROH World Champion was unsure of where to turn and what to do. He made the decision to attack his former protégés, War Machine (Raymond Rowe and Hanson). Elgin did not choose to do this with a partner. Instead, he called upon one of the most destructive teams in professional wrestling, the current Pro Wrestling NOAH Global Honored Crown (GHC) Tag-Team Champions, Killer Elite Squad (Davey Boy Smith, Jr. and Lance Archer), to do the job for him.

The confrontation between the two tag-teams happened in San Antonio, TX and saw mass destruction! All four men tore into each with such intensity that it forced the referee to declare the match a no contest.

Rowe and Hanson have been on a mission since that match. The prevailing thought is that K.E.S. woke up the killer instinct that War Machine needed to take them to the next level!

After facing off in the 2014 Top Prospect Tournament, Rowe and Hanson were brought together by mutual respect. They formed an alliance that saw early success with a non-title victory over then ROH World Tag-Team Champions, reDRagon. The duo were steamrolling over competition and opened even more eyes after going to a hellacious no contest with the Briscoes, 8x former ROH World Tag-Team Champions, last August on ROH television.

Fate stepped in when Raymond Rowe nearly lost his life in a motorcycle accident which derailed the momentum of this promising team. An improbable return this past February created sparks in ROH when Rowe defied the odds and declared War Machine was back!

Davey Boy Smith, Jr. and Lance Archer have been nothing short of dominant since debuting as a tag-team in 2012 for New Japan Pro Wrestling. They’re the current GHS Tag-Team Champions and former 2x IWGP Heavyweight Tag-Team Champions. They have defeated and damn near destroyed everyone they have stepped into the ring with. Davey Boy Smith, Jr. is a second generation wrestler who has matched and surpassed the great feats of his father. Archer is an imposing figure. Standing at 6’8”, he’s deceptively athletic and often uncontrollable. The two bring a bloodthirsty mentality to their matches that normally lead to an atmosphere of unbridled chaos!

Since their initial meeting, both teams have taken jabs at the other on social media. Locker room talk has picked up with both teams hoping word gets back to one another. Both teams were amped to sign another contract for the rematch and the date was set! At Field of Honor (Aug. 22, 2015), it was War Machine vs. K.E.S. II in a non-title match. The K.E.S. brought everything they had, tearing up the ring and field, but War Machine fought valiantly. They fought with a renewed intensity that caught K.E.S. by surprise. That surprise ultimately cost K.E.S. the victory. War Machine hit their dreaded “Fall Out” finishing maneuver to score their biggest win yet!

War Machine calls out the Killer Elite Squad for a battle in Japan!



War Machine’s win at Field of Honor sent shockwaves through the world of professional wrestling. It has been confirmed that War Machine is heading to Japan for Pro Wrestling NOAH where they will receive a shot at the Killer Elite Squads’ GHC Tag-Team Championships.

This is exciting news for War Machine, their fans and the fans of Ring of Honor. Can the destructive tag-team cross continents and achieve a dream? Can they keep their momentum rolling from Field of Honor? The Killer Elite Squad is part of a villainous Suzuki-gun faction in Pro Wrestling NOAH, which is led by the ultra-tough Minoru Suzuki. Not on a comp, and come to think of it, their match from Gut Check (one of the most underrated ROH shows in my opinion) isn't on a comp either. Only their Chi-Town Struggle match is on a comp.

Is there a reason the complete Trent Acid match wasn't on the DVD?

a couple reason:

1. the match reportedly sucked
2. Acid got hurt in the match, which effected the quality
3.it was at Testing the Limit with the Aries/Danielson 75 minute match, so it was "cut for time"

Ring of Honor announced earlier this evening that Cliff Compton was unable to compete at their event in Atlanta, GA tonight due to a medical emergency.

We are told that Compton had some sort of medical issue upon arriving at the venue that required him to go to an emergency room. I was told he was checked out and later released.

Obviously, we wish Compton nothing but the best and a quick recovery.

STEVIE RICHARDS FACES OFF WITH ROH CHAMP JAY LETHAL, BRISCOE VS. MOOSE AND MORE: 8/29 RING OF HONOR IN ATLANTA, GA LIVE REPORT

An excellent show overall, although not quite at the level of ROH’s debut at the Atlanta Trade Center in February. That was an amazing show with AJ Styles vs. Bobby Fish and Kingdom vs. Briscoes on top.

Attendance was over 1000 which was slightly less than the February show. Crowd was super hot all night long with more women and way more Afro Americans than I’ve ever seen at an ROH event.

Pre-show: P Dog (Mike Posey) with the Get Along Gang (CB Suave & Marko Polo & Raphael King & Devyn Nicole & Nina Monet & Merica) defeated Slim J in 5:30 with the help of massive outside interference by GAG. Slim popped the crowd with his corkscrew plancha.

Ring announcer Scarlett Bordeaux introduced the broadcast team of Kevin Kelly and Steve Corino.

(1)Cedric Alexander pinned Corey Hollis in 11:25. Match started with Hollis as the heel, but Alexander started acting like a real dick to turn the crowd against him. Hollis had Alexander pinned after a standing sliced bread but Alexander had his foot on the ropes. Alexander won it with the Lumbar Check. Hollis sustained a nasty cut under his right eye and was on the receiving end of a big round of applause for his effort.

(2) Kingdom (Michael Bennett & Matt Taven with Maria Kanellis) defeated Will Ferrara & Watanabe in 8:20. Not much competition for Kingdom who appeared to be totally in their comfort zone. They destroyed Ferrara and eventually pinned him with a stuff piledriver.

(3) Michael Elgin defeated Adam Page (with BJ Whitmer) via count out at 13:55. Big pop for Elgin in the afterglow of his stellar performance at the G1. Whitmer said that as result of Corino trying to choke him to death, ROH was an unsafe work environment so Sinclair had hired personal security for him. Page said Elgin wasn’t worth his time because he wasn’t Jay Briscoe and headed to the back, but Elgin’s comments alluding to extracurricular activities with BJ in the shower lured him back to the ring. Spot of the match saw Page reverse Elgin’s super powerbomb with a huracanrana followed by a standing SSP for a near fall. Elgin hit a deadlift falcon arrow for a near fall, then the buckle bomb, but Whitmer pulled Page out of the ring.

Postmatch – Elgin took his frustrations out on Whitmer’s security (indy wrestlers Fred Yehi, Brian Blaze, and Jeremy Foster and Elijah Evans) with two rounds of powerbombs for a huge “Michael Elgin” chant. Elgin’s ability to connect with the crowd has never been better.

(4) War Machine (Hansen & Rowe) defeated ACH & Matt Sydal in 15:40. Just as one would expect, it was all about the power of War Machine against the aerial attack of ACH and Sydal with both teams shining at what they do best. Hansen kicked out of Sydal’s SSP and War Machine killed Sydal dead with Fallout.

After the intermission, P Dog came back to the ring with GAG to do his ridiculous rap. Elgin mercifully ended that nonsense with a round of powerbombs on the male member of Posey’s gang. Nicole got in Elgin’s face so he gave her one as well.

(5) Mark Briscoe pinned Romantic Touch with the Froggy Bow in around 8 minutes. Romantic Touch subbed for Cliff Compton.

Kevin Kelly introduced Stevie Richards to a “BWO” chant and a much bigger response than I expected. Richards said if he had his way, he would have competed in ROH years ago. Richards was listing off ROH’s top stars until he was interrupted by the one star he hadn’t mentioned. Jay Lethal said he had never been so disrespected in his life. Richards said he was getting to Lethal. Lethal told Richards to get out of his ring. A pull apart ensued drawing the usual “let them fight” chant.

(6) Roderick Strong defeated Caprice Coleman in 14:12. A fine technical match with both men giving max effort and hitting all of their signature moves. Strong kicked out of A Thief in the Night and pinned Coleman after hitting the double knee gutbuster and the the Sick Kick.

(7) Jay Briscoe vs. Moose (with Stokely Hathaway) was a no contest at 3:15. Split crowd with dueling chants of “Moose” and “Man Up”. Really good stuff while it lasted, and the crowd was pissed when Page and Alexander attacked them. Hathaway did mic work leading to a “we smell p**sy” chant leading to…

(8) Briscoe & Moose defeated Alexander & Page in 10 minutes. A chaotic brawl that had the crowd rocking. Jay was cut over the right eye. Moose did a Doomsday Device variation on a petrified Page. In the end, Moose speared Alexander and Jay then pinned him with the J Driller.

Postmatch – Whitmer baited Corino on the mic. Corino got in the ring. Whitmer (still recovering from surgery for a torn ACL) begged off. The crowd chanted for Corino.

(9) ReDRagon (Kyle O’Reilly & Bobby Fish) & Adam Cole defeated Addiction (Christopher Daniels & Frankie Kazarian) & Jay Lethal (with a smoking hot Taeler Hendrix) in 18:34. Hendrix was awesome at ringside. OK, I’m biased but she was still great. A surprising amount of comedy and it was all very entertaining. They did the old armbar routine with Kazarian and Lethal unknowingly pumphandling the hell out Daniels’ arm. The crowd ate it up. Daniels and Lethal nailed O’Reilly with a BME/top rope elbow combo for a killer false finish. ReDRagon and Cole locked Addiction and Lethal in a triple submission. A train of big moves left all 6 men down in the ring. Lethal screwed up and hit the Lethal Injection on Kazarian, who was then pinned with Chasing the Dragon. A very satisfying main event.

NOTES: Compton was at the building but was not able to wrestler due to suffering a seizure…Bill Behrens was helping out backstage…Georgia wrestlers Dany Only and Kameron Kade were part of Whitmer’s security for his second appearance…A slew of folks familiar to Georgia wrestling fans were in the house including manager Jeff G. Bailey, “Crying Wrestling Fan” Dave Wills, AWE promoter Josh Wheeler, videographer/manager Allan Barrie, ring announcer Scott Hensley, and wrestlers Ethan Case, Geter, Washington Bullets, Johnny Danger, Devlin Valek, Chase Brown, Dark Mon, Stitch Osiris and Juan Delgado.

Fantastic show. Maybe not as good as the February show, but still damn great. ACH/Sydal vs. War Machine was my personal match of the night, followed by the main event. Got to meet Stevie Richards, which was amazing, as he's a favorite of mine, and even briefly talked to another favorite, Matt Sydal. Note from the pre-show/intermission: Mike Posey/P-Dogg sucks as a wrestler, but his gimmick, and his entourage are FANTASTIC. The Kingdom continues to be my favorite thing in ROH, especially Taven, the weirdo. Adam Page nearly killed himself twice with his little "SSP off the apron". Dude looks like a K-Mart version of Seth Rollins up close, btw. Taeler Hendrix is with Jay Lethal now, I guess? It was cool, she's got great facial expressions. Solid night of wrestling all around.

Awesome pics. Had a great time ... drove about 7 hours round-trip for it and worth every minute.

I heard that ROH is coming back to Atlanta on Jan. 23 next year.

Oh, yeah, minor observation. I was across the ring from the commentary booth all night, and let me tell you, Kevin Kelly looks like no-one so much as he does Arnold J. Rimmer.
