Just enjoy the moment they got to look like real threats, and try not to think too much about the follow up on this angle. Follow-up? Triple H beat the shit out of them in the same damn video, lol.

I HATED Awesome Truth because its existence KILLED all of Crazy Truth's momentum by lumping a heatless former-champion Miz onto him.
AND WHAT WAS THE OUTCOME OF AWESOME TRUTH? ..."Iceman" Mike Mizanin. REMEMBER THAT SHIT?

That was just part of the conspiracy, though.

Then they got the shit beaten out of them by John Cena and the Rock by themselves, leaving us with the amazing suspense of how badly their asses would get beat if Cena and Rock teamed up.

I never saw "Awesome Truth" as a credible threat. Crazy R-Truth was great, but he was more goofy than scary. And there's nothing intimidating about the Miz at all. It didn't help either guy that right around this time there were running an almost identical storyline on Smackdown with Mark Henry, who was much more convincing as an unhinged badass.

IIRC there was a rumor that all these chaos was going to lead to Kevin Nash reforming a new "nWo" featuring Miz and Truth. That would be something huh? They even teamed up on house shows:

I really wanted Christian to be part of it too.
I was playing a gig at a cool old punk rock dive that has a mural of Freddie Blassie on the back patio one night, and Raw was on tv TV. Miz, Christian, and Truth were in the ring teaming up for the main event, I think Miz and Truth did the REMIX, and they were all in the ring together heeling it up with these bastard smiles on their faces, taunting the crowd. I really loved it and thought "here's our new heel supergroup", but it didn't quite happen that way.
Having it be a 3 man group would've made them a more believeable threat to the whole company.

I liked the pairing a lot.
I don't think they needed to be booked to be physically dangerous, but moreso they were always finding a way to take down the company in other ways.
It's a shame Truth got suspended.
However it's even more of a shame they did that goddamn walkout. Christ that was the absolute worst Triple H blowjob I have ever seen, and I've seen a lot.

I think it worked because in all seriousness, it shouldn't have. It also had something WWE has since forgotten about completely; a buildup. Having Crazy R-Truth not make sense to amyone, except the Miz, and to have The Miz gradually see the light and start to agree with Truth, after having thought him crazy like everyone else, really helped it out. It was just the random pairing WWE had been and are still doing. That alone made them unique and different.
