I don't mean the divas who are just former models and have no passion for wrestling, and see it as a stepping stone to something else. Or the divas who are just eye candy and nothing else.
Although some of those former models might have developed a real love for wrestling once they started training.
I mean the divas who love wrestling and want to be wrestlers. The likes of Natalya, or now Mick Foley's daughter who seems to love the business and wants to be a wrestler.
If she makes it to the roster, what is she going to get? 7 minutes of air time on RAW every month? Maybe a PPV match now and then?
I don´t even watch womens wrestling, I skip to just the wrestlers I like, so I'm a hypocrite son of a bitch. However I still feel bad for the female athletes who might be incredible, and dedicated and who will never be appreciated.
(Basically I hate the idea of someone putting so much effort into something and then never getting much out of it. True same could be said for Dolph Ziggler)

I feel sorry for WWE shareholders, who WWE potentially deny millions by marginalising female wrestlers and the female audience. They claim to be an entertainment company but unlike other real entertainment companies, they don't cater to a female audience. It would be like Lionsgate saying "meh, women don't draw, let's make Katniss a man, or switch her role with Gale"

You're pretty much saying that women should only be entertained or engaged by other women. That's almost on the level of a brand of toys known for something like combat toys deciding to make a "female-friendly" line to cater to women when the women were already happy with the normal product and didn't feel like they needed to be treated differently because people can't understand girls liking more male-oriented things. In short, you don't need to have women's division JUST to gain a female fanbase. Having one is great bonus to already enjoying the male division because now you have male and female wrestlers you can look up to.

True, women can be entertained by male wrestlers, but younger women in particular need role models and people they can identify with. Other entertainment companies do provide those figures. WWE refuses to, with the exception of AJ. It's because the person in power is so absurdly out of touch. As for toys, whether people want to accept it or not, you do need lines that cater specifically for girls. Give a girl a doll or a pink Ferrari, and chances are she'd be happier than if you gave her a toy tank, or armoured personnel carrier.

I think I've said this before to you or something like this, but AJ alone isn't going to be the only girl that becomes a role model for other girls. It's kinda cliche to say AJ is the only female role model because of her personality or how she looks. We can take say Nikki and automatically think that because of the way she looks and acts on TV that she would be a terrible role model, but when you take the time to look at some of the stuff she's being saying about her and her improvement, she's showing that you can be both beautiful and successful at the same time. That's not to take away from AJ as she too in the same category, but her beauty differs from Nikki. Yes, you do need toys for girls because from birth, most parents are going to buy their daughters pink and purple things and those little girls are going to grow up and develop that pink and purple toys are only what they should play with and not think that they can play with any toy. The same can be said for little boys.

Pretty much it doesn't matter how talented the women they sign are, they're never going to be given the time to show it. That match last night was the first time I was super excited to see two women wrestle...and it lasted all of 2 minutes.

They claim to be an entertainment company but unlike other real entertainment companies, they don't cater to a female audience. It would be like Lionsgate saying "meh, women don't draw, let's make Katniss a man, or switch her role with Gale" The women do need to get more time to show their stuff- and more time to cut promos...and chances to have gimmicks that don't just boil down to "hot, nice girl" or "hot, bitchy girl", with maybe the better ones getting "Women be crazy, amirite?"...and actually, the WWE should just change everything about how they book Divas in all forms. Entirely. We know they can do it- NXT's had some of the best women's wrestling since TNA's early Knockouts division [and I'd argue even BETTER than the 2007 Knockouts since none of the women had to be sexualized to get that great). However, the example of Katniss does lead to another problem with the Divas that is an elephant in the room (and has to be considering it's such a polarizing part of getting the Divas' respect)- in movies and other TV shows, it's perfectly fine for a woman to kick ass and fight men, but somehow in pro wrestling, it's terrible for a Diva or a Knockout to fight male superstars in the ring purely based on competition on equal grounds. It should be a polarizing topic since it can be read two equally different ways- but it is a potential shot in the arm the Divas would need and to give one big role model for a female audience if they have at least one Diva who's sold as talented enough she can take on the men.

Bottom line: WWE is squandering a potentially great asset right now. The women's roster they have on hand now is the most diverse and most talented they have had in nearly 20 years. WWE seems to have talked themselves into the idea that women simply aren't a draw, but the reception of the women's matches in NXT and the success of all female indy promotions like Shimmer and Shine disproves that. There IS an audience or serious women's wrestling and they could be helping WWE draw ratings and buys. WWE's loss.

I'm really impressed at how WWE is resisting the urge to bury AJ out of spite but I never want to hear about how much WWE 'loves' her and the Bellas when they can't even get a decent storyline or even decent ring-time.
The contempt for women's wrestling will always be infinitely greater.

That's been her character for her entire WWE career, and it never works, despite WWE's insistence on constantly pushing that type of persona. The tomboy is the tried and tested persona. It worked for Lita, it works for AJ. The eye rolling, "talk-the-hand" bullshit will never draw female fans.

Also a nice majority of the people the Twins rt on their twitter are females who are wearing their merchandise

I said this in the suggest changes thread, but I think the divas should get at least an hour of the 3 hour Raw every week. Hire a few more females in the indies, establish multiple feuds, use them in main event intergender matches, etc. They'very been so goddamn lazy with such talent for so long.
Hell, TNA makes more with their 5 women and NXT with their 5-7 than the main roster does. They have considerably less time to do it, too.
Oh yeah, rehire Kharma. She was willing to come back and you could easily build a division around her. She was insanely over without having wrestled a single match.

They need their own wrestling based show. Been saying it for ages. Use NXT as the model. One hour long, small venue, hardcore crowd. Record it at Full Sail. The network needs unique programming. The Divas wrestling show can be part of it.

Just because her character is a bitch doesn't mean it can't be admired. There are no defined character traits of who can be admired.
