I'm going be an ass and pick three. Mainly due to the fact that I can't choose between them.
- Nirvana - The Ramones - Hank Williams Sr.

While The Beatles are my favorite band, I wouldn't pick them. I'd rather be a fly on the wall while they were recording Revolver of something like that.
If I could see one band live, it'd be the Rolling Stones in 1974. When they actually were "The World's Greatest Rock & Roll Band"

Who's it going to be? Queen with the original members , all four of the Beatles alive in the flesh or another group that you would give anything to see once? Easy,I would go back to 82 or so and see the real Dead Kennedys.Second place would be getting to see Johnny Thunders and the Heartbreakers in the late 70s.

At first, I was gonna say Zeppelin, but I can't pass up an opportunity to see Freddie Mercury's Queen.

As much as I would have loved to have seen KISS in their prime, I think I'm actually going to go with the Ramones. I would have loved to seen the Ramones with Dee Dee on bass and Richie on the drums. Got to see them three times, but it was with CJ and Marky. And I do not like Marky.

The Beatles are my initial choice, but I've always felt their best stuff wasn't done live, it was done in studio after they stopped touring. Maybe if I could go back and see their rooftop Let It Be concert...

So many good choices...
Going to go way off the board here and say Beethoven "conducting" his 9th symphony (even though it is alleged it didn't go so well.)

The Ramones, in the classic Joey/Johnny/Dee Dee/Tommy line-up, circa "It's Alive" - a great band at the top of their game.
There is no other logical answer to me.

The Clash's residency at Bond's Casino in New York City. Hell, I kick myself that I never attended Joe Strummer & The Mescaleroes 2001 gig at the Worcester Palladium in retrospect whenever I see the documentary "Let's Rock Again!" and I see that he played in my hometown. I didn't know jack shit about the cool stuff going on in my town (I was a very uncool 18 year old at the time) and was just getting into punk rock including The Clash and didn't get into Joe Strummer & The Mescaleroes until after Joe died over a year later. But still, The Clash at Bond's would be the show (or group of shows or whatever) that I would choose above all others.
Other notable gigs I'd choose:
Damaged-era Black Flag.
The 30th anniversary residency Metallica played at the Filmore West back in 2011. I know it doesn't have the cache of seeing Metallica when they were first starting out in small clubs. But this way you get to see all of the cool cameos of friends and Metallica members from the past getting on stage in a (somewhat) intimate venue.

I'd say Suffocation in a small club in front of a hundred or so people back in 1990 but I saw Suffocation in a small club in front of a hundred or so people in 2013, twice.

Not a band, but a singer, but I'd have loved seeing Klaus Nomi.

Fleet wood Mack for living musicians
The Doors with Morrison flying high on brown blotter paper. I don't do drugs but that dude was creative in a transcendent way that drugs could only bring about in him. I would be a sober as a judge as always, but let Jim be Jim and I'd love to hear the End as he peaks

I know I've already said one band, but I'm going to have to at least give mention to one that I didn't think of at the time.
The Manic Street Preachers (circa 1994)

I would see Pink Floyd during their Wish You Were Here / Animals tour. If not then, then I would see them during the PULSE tour.
