She'll probably never be comfortable around you again. She's likely already thinking about alternate living arrangements. That's the harsh reality.

She comes home drunk one night and you're there, one thing leads to another. She comes home from a bad date thinking all men are jerks and you're there to console her, one thing leads to another. Tell me you see the irony here

UPDATE: Man, I wish I read Mozenrath's sound advise. One and bit hours later I decided to text her saying sorry if she took my message the wrong way. She just text back saying not to worry about it, followed by the smallest of small talk. She clearly isn't interested. Now I'm crushed, and feel like an utter, utter fool. As a girl who's been on her end of this story, my advice here is that your easiest way out of this is to leave things as they are and when you see her, tell her you were only complimenting her and that you realised how it seemed after you'd sent the text, that you know things can be misconstrued in text and you hope you can move on.

You straight Maginot Lined that whole thing. Never, ever assume that a nonresponse is more than 'haven't literally read it yet.' Especially when she is gone to see the folks for a week.

Who say's he'd have to do anything? Women get horny too. I've had several women all over me when they were drunk that otherwise showed no interest before.

Meh, whatever.
You took a shot and got no sold. It happens. The aura of the home is for sure compromised, but you might be able to beat it back over time by being a big boy. If you're that deep on her though, it might be for the best that you go do something else, for both y'all.
If I lived with a girl I kinda liked and she shot me down, I could shrug that off so hard it might hurt her feelings. If she were "my girl" though, it would just fester until something ridiculous happened.

I think you need to take a breath and walk away from the thread before you get yourself painted with some unpleasant colours, bro. To the OP: situation you're in sucks, I'd say Midcarder is the only person you should be listening to right now. Best route now is the route of least awkwardness.

Yeah, not the best idea. Although could have been worse. You could have gone out with her and then broken up. Just imagine how being roommates would have been like that. 0_0

Ok, here's what you do - start stealing stuff from her. Little things like hair clips, toothbrushes, used panties, etc. When she starts noticing them missing she'll start exploring around the house looking for them. She should hopefully walk right in on you just as you're smelling them. Then you ask her out. It's foolproof. Then take a note from Danny Sexbang and sing a song about doing them over the past year.

I've had several relationships start off like that and last anywhere from weeks, to months, to years. 1 night of drinking together to break the ice, be more open, and get to know each other better. I don't see what is "pretty damn gross" or abnormal about that. I didn't suggest he rape the girl while she passed out on her bed Jesus.

Not to be a dick (but knowing I'll come off as one), judging by Chaos' threads, relationship advice isn't his strong suit.

Honestly, I've heard WAY worse. This isn't going to be helpful, really, but look for things to occupy your time, because there's nothing you can do about this for right now. When she gets back, it honestly is probably not going to be all that bad. You didn't really go all-in but did seemingly get your answer, and speed up the moving on process, so in a way, this is a blessing. "She'll probably never be comfortable around you again. She's likely already thinking about alternate living arrangements. That's the harsh reality. " This is the worst-case scenario, but if it comes to that, it comes to that and would have happened eventually whether you texted her or not, probably, if you were smitten with her and if that sort of thing was going to sink the roommate arrangement. Crushes don't stay secret indefinitely with that amount of being around one another.

What if I had a crush on her and she don't. it would end badly
