I still love this promo so hard. It makes absolutely no f***ing sense and turning Tony heel is complete lunacy, but I would have watched the shit out of the angle that followed.

Hell, watch the entire thing if you have the time. Highlights include Joe constantly eating and a Kurt Angle DWI joke.

That Don West heel turn is unintentionally hilarious. Tenay's reactions and facial expressions, mixed with West being West, makes that clip.

I think that may be my favorite part of early TNA. Angles getting started, then completely dropped after one show. Oftentimes, with one or more of the participants never being seen again.

Tenay is not, repeat, NOT who you go with to lead your commentary. I know Michael Cole can get overbearing sometimes, but he knows how to get the damn story across. Tenay just sounds befuddled and unsure of himself trying to sell the angles.

TNA went downhill when Don West left the booth.

Gotta love how Tenay botches that. Schiavone: Tenay doesn't want to work with you. Tenay thinks you held him down in WCW. Tenay: I HELD YOU DOWN?! No Mike, that is the exact opposite of what he just said. Also of course... the "Who Cares?" sign

TNA went downhill when Don West left the booth. Don West was obnoxious as hell often, but ultimately it isn't like anyone else they've tried has been much better, while also lacking his energy.

Tenay and West actually kinda worked. it wasn't great but they had chemistry and West made up for a bunch of Tenay's shortcomings when it came to selling angles. Tenay and Taz never had any of that. having Taz in the booth with him instead just made Tenay worse, and Taz hadn't been any good in years. they woulda been better off keeping West and having Taz stick to the manager role they gave him when he first showed up.
